LB Ryan Shazier (All B1G, All-American, 2017 Pro Bowl)

The current starters seem to be making just as much IMHO. This kid has talent that can't be matched by most of our linebackers. Id leave him out there because he is going to make his mistakes but he is also going to make some great plays.
I have a hard time arguing against splitting reps with Bino. I certainly didn't think his breakout game would be in relief of Sweat.

Because he made a lot of mistakes when he was out there in the past.

Seriously, our current LBs can't even get in position to make plays. Our secondary is making way too many tackles. Shazier almost caused fumbles on back to back plays and dropped a pick six. Sabino's play has been extemely disappointing.

Ryan made some sensational plays today and also made a few key errors in judgment and reads. However, I agree, at this point, high risk-high reward potential is the way to go for the future.

Agreed. Also seems like he's hungrier out there than anyone else. There's a lot to be said for that in any sport.

To me it just seems like there is alot more hunger out there on the field from the younger guys than there is from the upper classmen. Ryan has a motor that few others on this defense have and he needs to be out there.

No one is hungrier than Simon.

The young DBs run their mouth a lot... yet Roby outperforms all of them (not that he's silent, but he doesn't suffer from Cissoko syndrome like Bryant).

He's a core guy to build around going forward. He should be out there 75%-80% of the time the remainder of these games. I know he plays the same spot as Sweat, but honestly, they need to reshuffle this group of LBs so Shazier and Sweat are out there together.

Liked what i saw, but still seems a little raw. have to agree that sabino and even sweat lately have been slightly under performing. he plays at a faster speed than the rest of them it seems. not sure if hes ready for every snap though

I don't know why he isn't ready for every snap when you look at the alternatives..

Next week we'll be fine against a traditional offense, but against teams that run the spread and make the LBs run sideline to sideline, we are at a disadv. with Klein, Sabino, and Sweat.. these guys struggle to go sideline to sideline and tackle in space
