From looking at the games a little closer I really think at this point Ross is outplaying Marcus. He seems to get off blocks better and makes better reads and gets to the ball. I am sure the coaches see great things with Marcus as well as they seem him everyday but the first 3 games I would give the nod to Ross.

I have seen and heard this, and while I can agree that Ross is playing very well, Freeman still gets the nod when it comes to passing defense, and Freeman, while it doesnt seem that you hear his name and don't notice him a whole lot always shows up in the stat sheet...

Homan is fine. He could have played last week against Northwestern, and was dressed and in the rotation behind Freeman, but since the game got out of hand so fast, the coaching staff decided to give him the day off and fully heal.

He'll make the trip to Minnesota this week and be ready to play.

Sophomore linebacker Ross Homan, who sat out the Northwestern game last week with a toe injury, is expected to see limited action against Minnesota on Saturday.
OSU is notoriously tight-lipped about injuries. And when Tressel was asked for specifics on Homan's ailment, he joked, "(It's somewhere) below the brain."

Quick hitters from Jim Tressel's Thursday news conference:

LB Ross Homan will not play. He is sitting out a second game with an undisclosed injury that is "lingering" Tressel said.
