Coldwater 38, Marion Local 7

COLDWATER — Coldwater built up a 35-0 halftime lead and coasted home with a convincing victory over Marion Local.

Coldwater stands 2-0, while Marion Local is 1-1. It was the opener for both teams in the Midwest Athletic Conference.

Coldwater’s Ross Homan, the all-state linebacker, ran for 138 yards on 16 carries, with a 17-yard touchdown run.

Coldwater quarterback Steve Borger completed 8 of 17 for 113 yards with two touchdowns. He also ran for 55 yards on eight carries.

Curtis Moeller ran for 90 yards on 14 carries for the Flyers. Marion Local quarterback Chris Stucke completed 12 of 28 for 149 yards, but was picked off three times.

I believe Ross had another 8 tackles or so and I know he had at least one sack (he absolutely destroyed the FB up right into the QB).

Looked amazing on his TD run, made four guys miss.

Play New Bremen this week (they were tough last year but lost a ton) and it should be ugly. I'll be in C-Bus for the Colerain/Tyler Lee game & OSU/UT. Will try to get stats Monday.

By the way -- WadC -- may be going to see System of a Down & TMV in Detroit later this month...

Cavball, I was looking over the Coldwater roster the other day and I noticed that there were three other Homans on the roster. The one that intrigued me wasa freshman named Adam Homan, who is about the same size (6-1 233) as Ross and wears a number that suggests he's either a linebacker or skill position player. Is he someone to keep an eye on? Thanks in advance.
