why doesnt he want two more years. Does he think he will go pro after next year, and if so is he that good?? I would like to have for two more years.
he probably wouldn't get two more years. Huston was hurt during two years I believe, and only got one (IIRC). Either way, he is a star backup LB, and has missed tons of PT over the last 2.5 years. I seriously doubt he can stand sitting on the sidelines anymore if he is finally healthy, especially when he can be such an impact player.
NCAA rules are you have five years to play four and the clock starts ticking as soon as you enroll full time. A 6th season would only be granted under extraordinary circumstances, like Huston or Jason White being hurt two years and not playing at all. Somebody correct me if I'm wrong but I believe even if he got the NCAA to waive last year he would only be eligible for next year, not two more.
He's played some in all 4 seasons so I think we're lucky the NCAA even gave him a redshirt for last season.
D'Andrea was granted the 6th year medical redshirt so he would have 2 more years of eligibility if he didn't play this year. He still has a normal redshirt that he could use if he wanted to sit out a year.NCAA rules are you have five years to play four and the clock starts ticking as soon as you enroll full time. don't they usually wait until after the 5th year to apply for teh medical redshirt? I thought this case was somewhat unique in that they heard back from the NCAA very early, in time to let him know that he could play this year and still be eligible for an additional 5th year.D'Andrea was granted the 6th year medical redshirt so he would have 2 more years of eligibility if he didn't play this year.
