On the Purdue offense
"Seeing them on film, they're a very talented offense. They're somebody that we're going to have to be prepared for and study extra hard this week to try and contain their offense. We have a lot of their stats and rankings. We're aware of how good they are."
On not having missed tackles on defense
"It's huge. If you miss one tackle, a 3-yard play can be turned into a 15-yard play. It's something we have to make sure we do this week, make sure we tackle very well and limit their big plays."
On rotating defensive players
"I think it pays off all year, but especially right now. You keep fresh guys in and you try and keep them from getting bumps and bruises. You get to see who does what and who does the best at each position."
On the versatility of Purdue?s offense
"I think they have a lot of playmakers. They have 5 or 6 guys who can get the ball and make huge plays and that's something that we have to try and limit."
I agree , his play is improving in leaps and boundsntd;952102; said:I think this could have been Freeman's best game...he was all over the field, covered well, rushed well, stopped the run
The guy has had a lot of hype, it's nice to see things clicking
yup I think one was he missed the tight end on a short pass play but he stopped that play after that.Hubbard;952111; said:He had a good game, but he did have a couple missed tackles that led to first downs. I was impressed overall though.

If Herbie and Mushburger are right and this is a case of "the light coming on"; our defense really will give us a chance to win it all this year. With Laurinaitis and Grant already playing at the level they're at, a Marcus Freeman playing at his potential would make our back-7 the best OSU has ever had with the possible exception of 1973 (judged against teams of its own era).
matcar;953971; said:The reason for the light coming on is probably that he's not sharing time w/ Homan so much. There have been a few loud voices out there claiming that Marcus just wasn't living up to the billing...it just seems like he needed to be out there a bit more to be in the flow. Marcus is doing a fantastic job.
