Well crap, looks like the official injury is a fractured bone in his right leg. Says out for approximately 4 weeks in the Indiana Game Notes. Hope Perry is ready for this.

Get well soon Bino!

If you have a starter go down this is the time of the season for it to happen. Perry got a lot of playing time against a very good NEB Offense and he will have all week to work with the first team in prep for INDY. He has the physical skills to get the job done. Let's just hope the mental part of the game clicks for him as well.

I may be incorrect here, but it seems the linebacking corp is alittle thin in experience and it's good that we have Storm Klien starting to get in the
mix of things. Curtis Grant will obviously see more playing or even Josh Perry. I agree that this the time for things like this to spring up and players really have to step up and take some responsibility real quick.

Agree regarding Storm. Having an experienced guy out there is huge right now. He had a decent game against NEB and is starting to get in the swing of things. Defending dink and dunk isn't his strength but he will not be playing much this week as we will probably go with a Star instead because of all the passing. Hopefully Barnett will be good to go at Safety and Johnson can slide into the Star role this week. I think that is our best line up against a team like INDY.

Here's hoping...

The one game that Bino's injury affects is at Happy Valley. As lack-luster as this defense has been, there is a cliff from where they've been with Bino to where they'll be without him in the 4-3 look. Against the basketball-state schools this won't be a big issue. Against Penn State this could put an extra 14 points on the board for the home team. That might not be enough to make a difference, but it makes the game less a sure thing than it was.

Hope Sabino isn't seriously hurt...anyone know when/how he got hurt? I don't remember seeing him limp off the field...

he got hurt on punt coverage on the play where our punter Buchanan made the tackle....you can see him pull up lame even before the guy(abdallah) caught the punt...and sabino still ran after him....perry comes in the next play

If you ever have to break a bone... this may be the one.. it's the non-weight bearing bone... so he could probably run with this break...

Fibula's key purpose is stabilization... mainly to the ankle...

That plate will permit him to recover 100% .. he'll be as good as new..
but he will have to deal with the atrophy ...

may not have been caused by impact as much as torgue
Little doubt.. he knew when it broke...

Saw him at least once out on the field with the defense during a timeout after he had changed into street clothes...definitely a leader. He'll gets his chance to be a close mentor to Josh Perry now, if he already isn't.

During the B1G teleconference, Coach Meyer said it was 50/50 whether Sabino would play against Wisky. Here's hoping he can recover quickly over the next week.

It would be nice if he could at least play a little against Wisky to knock the rust off for scUM.
