it's blatant exploitation, but the only solution is a mild compensation for the kids.

Otherwise the entire house of cards collapses and the substantial benefits to most will be gone, particularly the non profitable, more likely to be actual student athletes.

That is the case - and truth is, if he didn't do this now down the line someone else somewhere else would have done this and done it for nothing more than personal financial gain. Better for it to be this way - set a precedent AND not be hurt much from it. I'm a fan of this.

lord knows they deserve something ... i just dont know how you balance that out with the non revenue sports that at Ohio State a vast in number... maybe if the Dept of Edu would enforce the Not for Profit roll of the AD it might work out better... complicated either way

Revenue sports should get some (more) of the revenue they generate. Non revenue sports should not get revenue b/c they don't generate any.
