LaTwan Anderson (official thread)

Anderson Visit Postponed | Ohio State Buckeyes College Football Recruiting, OSU Big Ten Football, OSU Basketball ?€“ Bucknuts.com

Cleveland (Ohio) Glenville defensive back Latwan Anderson has had his first official visit postponed. Two weeks ago Anderson said he would make an official visit to Ohio State the weekend of Oct. 10.

?That?s been changed to sometime in December,? Anderson said on Monday night. ?That?s when they want me to come down.?

The Buckeyes have told most of their current commitments they will make their official visit to Ohio State during one of the first two weekends in December. It seems likely Anderson and teammate Christian Bryant will be brought in on one of those two weekends as well.

Anderson has not scheduled any of his other official visits, but says he is considering West Virginia, Georgia, Florida, Cincinnati, Miami and Michigan State.

Why wouldnt they let him come the day he makes his decision

I understand he pushed his announcement back.
He can still visit Columbus "unofficially" this weekend.
He also may still verbal to the coaches on his birthday and later take his officials to other schools.
Except for Hicks, there aren't many in state recruits who take officials during the season.
Coaches have often asked recruits to delay their officials until after the season.
Tress probably wants him to come for the "official" when they can focus completely on recruiting, giving the special treatment.

Latwan Anderson - College Football Recruiting 2010 - ESPN

Highly-coveted safety Latwan Anderson (Cleveland, Ohio/Glenville) told ESPN affiliate Web site EerSports.com, "I was actually going to (commit) this Saturday. My coach wants me to take my visits and have a little fun with it. It was a certain school that I was thinking I was going to go to. My parents and my coach just want me to be sure. I haven't really said much to people."

Anderson's list of scholarship has been narrowed down to a top five of Ohio State, West Virginia, Georgia, Miami-FL and Cincinnati but also mentioned that Tennessee is also somewhat in the mix.

Eh, he's been silent now for awhile.

Just the usual Glenville way....hold off on the commit, get those schools to come up and visit and hope that the exposure works in the favor for the rest of the team. It's worked before and will continue to. It's just Latwan lining up and doing things the way Ginn has set-up for the betterment of the team.

Rumors and Wires: Week of October 5, 2009
Oct 7th, 2009 by admin. No comments yet

Glenville H.S. (Ohio) safety Latwan Anderson has delayed his commitment announcement. Anderson was scheduled to announce on October 10th. However, Anderson says his coach has told him to take his visits and have fun with it. I really think it comes down to West Virginia and Ohio St. and I am going to go out on a limb and say that I think he favors West Virginia over Ohio St. We will see how things unfold.

Seems a little silly to have the kids hold out anymore. Everyone college coach and recruiter knows about Glenville and is digging around that school day in and day out. Early verbals wouldn't change that in the least. At one time it was a smart decision in an effort to gain exposure but now I think they should rethink that strategy. Why subject a kid to the media and recruiters when he has his mind made up and could focus more on his senior year. The team seems like it would be beter off with all the players minds on the season at hand, maybe its just me.

I hardly think that that's the case, i.e., the whole Glenville exposure thing. Maybe it is just that Latwan like any smart recruit wants to make absolutely sure that tOSU is the best place for him. JT would also want the kids to know for sure....there is nothing worse than having a kid commit without being certain only to de-commit later.....see Darrell Givens and such....
