There are two actors out there today, that aren't known as "leading men", but I would watch in anything: Paul Giamatti and Philip Seymour Hoffman. They always make anything they're involved in infinitely better.Bucklion;2200618; said:Saw "Capote" on Sunday. I have to admit, I thought this would bore the [Mark May] out of me, but it was surprisingly interesting for seemingly boring subject matter (in that way I would compare it with the King's Speech). Hoffman was of course brilliant, though the rest of the case was pretty mundane (I like Chris Cooper, was disappointed he didn't get to do more with his role). But the story was intriguing enough to keep me interested for almost 2 hours, which is saying something. I would give it a solid 3.5/5, leaning towards 4 except that the rest of the cast was pretty benign, either by ability or by script.
Hoffman playing "Gust" in "Charlie Wilson's War" is still one of my favorite, and in my IMO, most underrated performances ever.
