All of you people jumping on The Avengers bandwagon are confusing me a bit.

Especially the ones that propose it better than The Dark Knight.

It is all conjecture and opinion, but even that seems like a grand claim to me.

I plan on seeing it tonight, but I can't imagine what would unseat TDK as the standard for comic book movies in my mind.

I'm not sure if people are saying it's better than TDK, but I enjoyed it more than TDK, but I'm biased because I'm more of a Marvel fan than DC (Captain America is my favorite superhero)

But it's a fact it did better in the box office on opening weekend

Greenie and Golic fighting today about Golic saying Batman was not a "Superhero" by definition - just a guy with a utility belt.....or, in Capt A's case, a shield.

He's not. He's a detective with toys. Cap't America kinda has superpowers from the serum.

You could really say the same thing about Ironman or Green Lantern

Ironman has a super powered suit. If you can fly, you're a superhero, regardless of how you do it. Green Lantern has superpowers from a ring. Technically a superhero.

I don't like the Marvel movies too much. I didn't really care for the Iron Man movies, thought Captain America was horrific, and liked the 1st Hulk better than the 2nd. I'm not sure Avengers is my type of movie.

I couldn't be more excited for TDKR this summer though.

The first Hulk was disgusting. It was a horrible movie. Not just the Hulk parts, but the dogs and Nick Nolte before he became a good actor again. There is something very wrong with you.

I saw Avengers in 3D Sunday. Fuck 3D. It's ok, but wearing the fucking glasses for three hours can go fuck itself. Plus they reflect light from everywhere, so every time I turn my head a little, I pick up the aisle lights, the projection room lights...fucking annoying.

I really liked the movie. It was a great comic book movie. TDK was a great movie, in my imo.

A new Spidey? Already? What the fuck? Are they just going to start these franchises over every fifteen years?

Don't get me wrong, I didn't think either Hulk was good, but I did like the 1st one more than the 2nd one. Kind of like saying I liked Red Dragon more than Hannibal, but neither of them are any good like Silence of the Lambs.

3D is shitty. Really shitty.

Scarlett Johansson plays Natasha Romanoff, aka the Black Widow, in The Avengers.

'Avengers'...unseats 'The Dark Knight' as the new standard for super-hero flicks, and that's hefty praise, as I didn't think it was possible. Just all-around amazing...10/10
OK. I hate to go all MaxBuck on the Avengers, but I just don't get all this praise it's getting. I watched it and really liked it, but what's the difference between that or either of the Ironman movies or the Transformers? I don't think it comes close to TDK at all.

I think NF liked it so much because of all the lightning. There wasn't really any weather in TDK. He likes weather. He's a weather man. Get it?

Saw The Avengers last night. I was pleasantly surprised. Fuck 3D. I feel like any of the Marvel franchise movies are an apples and oranges comparison to TDK. I sort of liken it to the difference between the run of the mill comic books that I read and really enjoy as opposed to the grittier, more serious graphic novels that I also enjoy, but have higher expectations of story wise. I am entertained by both, but for different reasons.

The Hulk's brief confrontation with Loki was awesome.
