OK. I hate to go all MaxBuck on the Avengers, but I just don't get all this praise it's getting. I watched it and really liked it, but what's the difference between that or either of the Ironman movies or the Transformers? I don't think it comes close to TDK at all.

+1 . I saw it Sunday, and really liked it, but it's not "a great movie". It's a couple of hours of good entertainment, but nothing more than that.

I just wanna see more of Scar Jo running around in that leather outfit!
I'll pay to see that!

Scarlett Johansson plays Natasha Romanoff, aka the Black Widow, in The Avengers.
I prefer her nudies that she took with her cell phone.

I saw it last night. I thought it was great in the context of being a Summer blockbuster/superhero movie. Then again, I don't really put TDK in any category above that. We're not talking about Rashomon; just a couple of hours of mindless entertainment.

Transformers were crap, crappier and crappiest though.

How does The Avengers stack up with Ironman? That seems like a better comparison.

The Dark Knight was legendary because of Ledger. He made an otherwise decent flick into a must see film.

Definitely better than the second, but probably a step behind the first one. Too much going on to have the focus of the first.....plus The Dude wasn't in it.

Better than Ironman..it's by far the best Marvel movie to date...

Avengers
Ironman
Thor
Captain America
Ironman 2
Hulk

in that order in marvel movies (leading up to avengers) so far...haven't seen any of the X-Men to compare it

I think it's hard to compare TDK and Avengers because of the tone of the movies, TDK/Nolan is going for serious/realism aspect of the movie..Marvel is more goofier/comedic to me

saw Avengers last night. I concur with most everyone's assessment. Great action movie that's perfect for 2 hours of mindless fun.

I thought Ruffalo's Hulk/Banner was the best of all the incarnations there has been. And the quick punch on Thor during the battle scene was epic.

"The Avengers" Disappointing. Too long. Highlights were Hulk and Robert Downey Jr. as Ironman. Guy that plays Thor just sucks. Guy who plays Hulk sucks. Scar Jo couldn't save this movie.
We have a friend who worked on the movie set for this movie. (Cleveland and Cincinati.) Saw "The Avengers" with his wife last night. He's currently working on "The Lone Ranger" which looks like a terrific movie.
