STA's Lamarcus Joyner out for Nova game
Posted by Christy Cabrera Chirinos on October 8, 2009
When St. Thomas Aquinas takes the field Friday for its District 16-5A opener against Nova, it will do so without defensive back Lamarcus Joyner.
According to Raiders coach George Smith, Joyner dislocated a finger at Wednesday's practice. Smith declined to say which hand or which finger Joyner injured, but the senior will see a hand specialist Friday.
Joyner, a finalist for the U.S. Army Player of the Year Award, is one of the nation's most coveted prospects.
Ranked the No. 2 corner in the nation by rivals.com, he leads St. Thomas with 431 all-purpose yards and five touchdowns.
Hope he chooses tOSU!5. Florida State
You can blame just about anyone for the Seminoles? 49-44 loss to Georgia Tech, except QB Christian Ponder, who almost single-handedly snapped the two-game losing streak with five touchdown passes. Mickey Andrews? defense continues to be pitiful, giving up 532 yards and dropping into the ACC basement. Who thought they?d ever see that? Just how bad is the Florida State defense? Not a team in the country is allowing more yards per pass attempt than the ?Noles. Strange times, indeed.

I'd be pretty surprised if Lamarcus doesn't sign with us after what people have been saying. :osu:

Under Armour All-American cornerback Lamarcus Joyner (Miami/St. Thomas Aquinas), who missed last weekend's game with a dislocated finger, is expected to play Friday against Miramar, Fla. and ESPNU 150 wide receiver Ivan McCartney, the Miami Herald reports.
