It was big news when Lakewood St. Edward offensive lineman Kyle Kalis reneged on his commitment to Ohio State and switched to Michigan in July.
Kalis, one of the top recruits in the state, said at the time that "I can't go (to Ohio State) and take penalties for something I never did."
But some OSU insiders believe it's not over. If the NCAA Committee on Infractions doesn't add any sanctions, they think Ohio State might take another shot at Kalis. After the way Michigan went after him, the gloves seem to have come off, and Ohio State coaches could become aggressive in recruiting him again.
A re-commitment to Ohio State would represent a serious change for Kalis, listed as the eighth best offensive tackle in the 2012 class by Scout.com. After he switched to Michigan, Kalis complimented new coach Brady Hoke on his passion and said, "I believe the Michigan-Ohio border is now open."
Imagine how that would sound if he went back to Ohio State.
