Kevin Wilson (Former HC Tulsa)

Coach Wilson taking a lot on his shoulders for Saturday. Admirable because I just don't see it as his fault at this point.

Seen waaay too much at IU to not realize this is a philosophical issue at top with Ohio State. Still, good on him protecting his players (no jokes, please).
Came here to say this and I will add one more thing. I will never blame Kevin if this thing continues to implode on us and while I appreciate his being a man and taking responsibility that's not his fault.

I will go as far to say this too... If we continue to struggle to the point where he gets canned after like a year or two I will never be a fan of UFM again. This is putting the horse before the carriage and I doubt it'd ever happen but if it were I stand with Kevin Wilson because he has too much success in his past to actually think he just decides he wanted to run quarterback power again.

I'm wondering why UFM doesn't reach out to someone like Stoops who's retired to ask his opinion on what they're seeing while prepping for OSU.

At least he isn't making dumbass comments about how he is learning on the job or that he thinks he did a good job etc. I still have hope and faith in Wilson.

He's very candid, and takes ownership, which is great. I have full confidence that he can get the offense rolling, but I also think that in order for that to happen, Urban has to give him carte blanche.

Hopefully he does.

new allegations on coach... I think it's crap though.

Alleging a kid had to keep going 1 on 1 verse a senior until the senior won and his head started to hurt so he let the senior win.

That's just football kid. I remember doing Oklahoma's in high school and my group probably went 5-6 times in a row because we just couldn't tackle the kid. It sucked, it hurt, and the more I went the angrier I got. However, I have no doubt if I told my coach "coach, I'm hurt I can't do this anymore" he would've said OK and found a replacement for me or ended our misery.

If your head hurts then say something... Don't keep quiet and then claim injustice.

am i hearing correctly that the general consensus at present is that the offensive issues are urban's fault?

It's like when you're watching House Hunters and the 30 minutes is up and they've selected the house and then they start to remodel it, and you realize you're watching House Hunters Renovations and you still have another 30 minutes to see what it looks like in the end.

We're like on the first commercial break in the second half of the show when they're trying to put the walls back up.

Never be a fan of UFM again? All he did was take over the worst OSU team in 25 years that was on probation and turn them immediately into the juggernaut of the BigTen. He's 5-0 against tsun and won a NC.

So we have serious issues at QB and have had two bad losses....there's still only 2 college football coaches every team would kill to have and we have one of them.

If he takes an elite OC and let's him go because our offense isn't performing then you bet. Kevin is a better offensive mind then UFM will ever be and if he let's him have control there won't be issues IMO.

If however we struggle and then UFM either forces him out or fires him to scapegoat him then yes I'd have a hard time rooting for him. Particularly since Kevin is running our offense and not his own.

I appreciate UFM but I do not like stubborn people unwilling to give up control or to allow changes that make what you do better. This IMO will all be moot because we will be fine I believe and I don't see Kevin ever getting fired.

I'm just saying if Kevin is scapegoated then yeah I'd not be a fan of coach. Besides it's Urbans offense and he talks about being leaders and all this. Part 1 of being a leader is take responsibility and if Kevin were to be fired that'd tell me UFM isn't willing to do that.

Again this is all moot anyways but that's am explanation of what I meant

Understood-your entire thinking is nonsense. Whenever I question UFM's desisions I try and view them through the lense of his track record....usually leads me to the fact that I'm a casual fan and he's an all-timer in his prime. Doesn't mean he can't be wrong-but should at least limit the pannick of small setbacks.

Yeah I get it... but I always loath folks who don't take responsibility. If Kevin can't turn this into a dominate offense then no one can outside of Tom Herman then and he ain't coming back.

So that being the case the blame should fall on UFM not the OC.

As I said though he will never get fired so it's all pointless

That look on Urban Meyer's face.

Sometimes you get up in the morning and want to quit your job. It's usually not the job itself but rather a political issue. You know. Those little sh#ts in dept x or that p÷ick new VP who is screwing everything up and listens to no one. We're talking about a grpoop of mental midgets who think they know everything, tell everyone, and know nothing. I'm not saying he's there, but you have seen a sign of someone who might have been thinking, "do I really need this crap press conference in my life?"

I always try to remember that I have no real idea what is going on behind the scenes with the coaches, players or admin folks. Maybe someone looks really good for five minutes in a game but crap in practice. Maybe a kid is going through a tough emotional issue. I just try to keep in mind that I'm here to watch.

There is an offensive problem. Ohio State is paying this coaching staff a fortune to sort it out. For those who don't think they will, be careful what you hope for, you might get it.
