Prior to taking over the Golden Hurricane, Wilson was the offensive coordinator and tight ends coach at Ohio State from 2017-22. During that time, Wilson helped boost Ohio State to four Big Ten titles and two appearances in the College Football Playoff.
The ONLY reason I think Day may trust him is the familiarity of working together here for a couple seasons. I believe Day was the primary play caller then though.tOSU has the football budget to add a consultant or a dozen, obviously. Hopefully, Day can take up where Saban left off, what with the 'rescue' of ex-coaches needing a place to hang until the dust clears from prior assignments. Not certain I'd take Kevin over Chip, though. Comparing the two, Kevin is/was more 'vanilla' than Chip, given what we all saw on the magnificent Championship run. But.....with Chip having some pro teams calling, might be nice to have another ace up Day's sleeve. Big question, would Day trust his $8+ million paycheck to Kevin versus Chip? Not thinking so...
