Kevin Wilson (Former HC Tulsa)

That team likely had the NFL Rookie of the Year (Zeke), DROY (Bosa), OROY candidate / leading rookie WR in receptions and yards (MT), and another DROY candidate (Apple, chosen by NFL.com). And personally, I can see Adolphus and Vonn killing it in a year or two.

Probably go down as the biggest waste of talent I'll ever see in my lifetime. Sad.

'95, '96, '98, '15

you could sit here and debate which one of those teams wasted the most talent all day long

Easily 2015 for me

Probably should be another thread but look at that '95 team;

You had 5 eventual 1st round picks including an overall #1. Until the '15 guys are done playing, Orlando Pace is a HOF player and they are not so that's a big edge to '95 imo.

They had Orlando Pace, Eddie George, Terry Glenn, Rickey Dudley, Bobby Hoying and Nickey Sualua on offense. Shawn Springs, Mike Vrabel, Ty Howard and Rob Kelly all drafted on defense.

All but 2 of the offensive guys were 1st rounders. Springs was a 1st round, overall #3 on defense.

The '15 guys will have to play more to know for sure but that is a metric shit ton of talent right there.

This is depressing

EDIT

Forgot to add in that the '15 team is head and shoulders ahead in depth of talent (obviously).

In other news, interesting that Harbaugh thinks so much of his own abilities that he hires Kevin Wilson's offensive line coach. If you recall, Bo beat Woody the first time using his own playbook against him. Not this time.

It wasn't just #95 Eddie won his Heisman running behind:

I mean... think about that for a second.... Ohio State had Korey Fucking Stringer and Orlando Fucking Pace at the same fucking time.

EDIT: Shit.... I was wrong, he was 95 Draft (I thought it was 96 draft after 95 season), but ended his playing career in 94... Still, he and Orlando were on the 94 team with both Eddie and Robert Smith running behind them.

At least the '95 team played a tough schedule and didn't lose to a team starting both its second AND third string QB. Both '95 Michigan and '95 Tennessee would probably destroy '15 Sparty. '15 looked liked crap against one of the weakest OSU schedules in recent memories and had the temerity to lose to a mediocre Sparty team that was barely a threat to pass. No question '15 squandered more talent.

The strange thing though, I went back and looked through some threads and indeed it appeared some members had mentioned this "screen" play or lack there of the past couple of years. As well as something known as "misdirection" for what ever that is worth. Evidently Beck and Warriner were not reading BP? Could have possibly saved their jobs?

there is an old saying in poker that a play "works every time until it doesn't"
I don't know where that saying comes from but it can't be from poker. Nobody who knows how to play poker would ever think that unless it was about playing specific opponents. And even then it sounds like something that would only be said by a losing poker player.

Bingo. I didn't get to watch the '95 team, but based on everything I've read they at least played relatively well. They might not have won a title, which they should have given the talent on the team, but they also didn't sleepwalk through a schedule of Indiana, Rutgers, and an MSU team that got plastered 35-0 by the first decent team they played.

On that note, my excitement for next season is through the roof. Can't wait to see what a real coordinator will do with this offense. I realize we all hated on the playcalling, and deservedly at times, but I feel the bigger problem on the offense was just poor development of scheme to match our players, no sense of offensive identity, and honestly, poor coaching.

Isn't the saying that 90% of the game has been decided before it is played? Really speaks to the players and captains last year that they were able to do what they did, despite the coaching they were getting.
