Also, not wanting anyone to get upset but in regaurds to every posting in this thread about being scared of other recruits being invloved, I know 2 very very big names that were involved and ran while Haw took the heat. This is behind us but I hadnt heard that Skeete would be back until now.

Haw smoking weed is like a common ocurrence in the City League High Schools(CPS) with football players. I'm not going to go into details, but about one out of every 4 players that plays football in CPS...does some sort of illegal drug.

People smoke weed everywhere, it is just a matter of doing it in a smart manner and not getting caught.

As for Skeete coming back to the team I will believe it when I hear he is at a practice or see him on the sidelines.

i doubt that will be anytime soon. he will most likely have to gain reinstatement by ohio state and the NCAA. is he even still attending OSU after that incident.

Ex-Ohio State Kicker Sentenced For Marijuana Trafficking
Skeete To Serve One Year Probation

UPDATED: 1:51 pm EST December 16, 2005

COLUMBUS, Ohio -- Former Ohio State kicker Jonathan Skeete was sentenced on Friday to one-year probation for marijuana trafficking.

In February, Skeete tried to sell just under 200 grams of marijuana to an undercover Ohio State University police officer, NBC 4 reported.

He was taken into custody later that month on an arrest warrant at his Baker Hall residence on campus.

Skeete, a straight-A student at Gahanna Lincoln High School, was a walk-on with the Ohio State team. Coach Jim Tressel suspended Skeete indefinitely pending the outcome of his case.

He was redshirted in 2004 and played in April's spring game. Skeete's name did not appear on the 2005 Ohio State football roster.

"There are a lot of people who aren't given much but they do much," Franklin County Common Pleas Judge Dan Hogan said to Skeete. "There are other people like you have been given a lot. A lot should be expected of you."

Skeete apologized for his behavior to Hogan, NBC 4 reported.
