Guyton, Skeete earn MEAC Weekly Football honors

Standout MSU linebacker Jarrell Guyton was named MEAC Player of the Week.
BALTIMORE, Md. ? Morgan State linebacker Jarrell Guyton was named the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Defensive Player of the Week and
placekicker Jonathan Skeete was named MEAC Special Teams Player of the Week the league announced today.
Guyton (LB, 6-0, 225, Jr., Miami, Fla.) posted nine tackles, and a sack while also recording one of the biggest plays of his collegiate career. On first and goal at the Morgan 1-yard line in the second overtime period, QB William Blanden fumbled, allowing Guyton to recover the ball. Guyton ran the ball about 20 yards and passed it back to defensive back Everette Baker. Baker ran another 79 yards for the game-winning touchdown, thus raining all over Howard?s Homecoming celebration. This is third straight week that Morgan State has earned defensive honors.
MSU?s defense limited Howard to 34 total yards on the ground and finished the game with four sacks and forced three fumbles.
Morgan State?s defense ranks among the MEAC?s leaders. Defensive coordinator Alonzo Lee has his Bears defense ranked 2nd against the run giving up an average of 115.7 yards per game. MSU ranks 3rd in the MEAC in total defense.
Skeete (5-11, 185, So. Gahanna, Ohio) recorded six points for the Bears when he converted on 2-of-3 field goals. One of which was a season-long 46-yarder, while the other was from 23-yards out. The Ohio State transfer has converted 4-of-7 field goals and is 12-of-13 in PATs this season.
Morgan State (4-3, 3-1) will attempt to win its fourth conference game of the season when they host Delaware State (4-2, 3-1) for the Bears? Homecoming at Hughes Stadium. Kickoff is slated for 1:00 p.m. and will be broadcast on WEAA 88.9FM and streamed live on
