K Jonathan Skeete (official thread)

I misread your initial post. I figured you were teaching in high school and therefore the "kids you know who sell drugs" were in high school. I meant that those type of kids typically don't go to Big 10 schools, or any college for that matter.
im not sure how long ago you went to school at ohio state but times have changed i guess. I know many kids from UA, and thats all they did at lunch and after football and they all managed to pull honor roll every quarter

Bullshit generalization... so you know 2 people and you make this statement... what a crock

i cannot recall ONE person with whom i was asscociated with at any time in those six years who did NOT smoke pot, at least socially.

I don't necessarily agree with Tibs position but the key word you used was "I" was associated with. Funny thing is, most everyone I hung around with never smoked weed.

We all drank and they occasionally would smoke cigs but not weed. Not everyone on campus smokes pot.

I agree that Skeete should have a chance to go back to school and possibly earn a spot on the team but OSU shouldn't complain about any heat they get for taking him back considering their recent track record.

LMAO... 50,000+ students. naturally they don't ALL smoke pot... the truth is that the majority does. in fact, recent studies have shown that over 70% of all HS Seniors have taken some sort of illicit drug... i'm not condoning the act, but anyone who thinks that "this doesn't happen at MY school" is lying to them self...

I gotta agree with Tibs on this one. He was given an opportunity of a life time and he chose to sell weed instead of representing the university the way it should have been. There are plenty of talented kids who would do anything for that chance.

So, if every campus was full of child molesters, would we be saying, "Give him another chance, they're everywhere."?

People are individuals and should be dealt with as such.

This is simple. BP has a rule that we will not bash players. If Skeete is a member of the team, we will not bash him personally. You can say that you disagree with the decision, you can say you don't want him on the team, but when personal insults start coming, we have a policy to uphold on this site.

This also goes for personal insults towards posters. There is room for discussion without the personal garbage. That goes for Tibor also. We've been over this umpteen times. Cut it out.

The garbage is split.

Well, you certainly gave the impression that everyone on campus does it.

As far as 70% of HS seniors doing illicit drugs, that number sure seems high. Does that include alcohol?

grad21, what do you think of that 70% number since I know you teach HS.

Yea right selling pot and sucking some 5 year olds cock is about the same thing. You both are fucking clueless or stupid, take your pick.

That wasn't even the point of the post. The point was to say that you can't just say commiting a crime is OK just because others are doing it.

Try reading posts for what they are instead of what you want them to say.

1. I don't believe for a second that a majority of students at OSU smoke weed. This world just does a good job at making us think that everyone does stuff so we don't feel as bad about our own decisions.

This is outdated; and comes from an organization pushing for the need of a drug education program which leads me to assume the numbers are probably skewed slightly high.

Wow, this thread has deteriorated rather quickly.

It always does. When the drugs thing comes up it ought to be immediately put in the Political forum. I have stayed out of this because the outcome is always the same. Me being right and the people that do not agree with me being wrong.

Point is, that a SUBSTANTIAL % of students use drugs. For us to condemn a kid and banish students to never being able setting foot on campus again (Tibor) is just retarded.
