No insight but on top of running an OLine academy in Arizona it looks like Bentley is also part of a sports agency (focused on representing Offensive Linemen). What’s the story on that?
I'm more of a Bollman BelieverNot a Buckeye, doesn’t get “it.”
Bring back Studrawa.
"Please don't go" (KC and the Sunshine Band). You mean, we may lose the guy we all love now that we wanted fired two months ago?

I know it's the Scoop...so BS, but Barton interviewed him earlier this year. He said there were only a couple places he'd entertain coaching at..one was OSU...said he'd sorta like to see how he could do in that position vs what he's doing now..good interview...had me, with my titanium hip, ready to run through a wall..No insight but on top of running an OLine academy in Arizona it looks like Bentley is also part of a sports agency (focused on representing Offensive Linemen).
Might be giving up quite the lifestyle of letting other athletes make money for him, with some coaching on the side vs getting into the crossfire of big time college football coach.
But I am seeing he was on campus prior to the Tennessee game - helping the OL. So who knows. Guy is successful at his craft, well known in the OL circles and a Buckeye.
What’s the story on that?
@OHSportsFan pretty much summed it up. And to add, Bentley's name and aura has gotten so big with OSU's fan base that many believe that he would be the equivalent of Hartline from the jump, and I don't think that would be the case. Bentley has relationships in OH, but not so much with southern or west coast recruits. On top of that, I can assure you that he's watched closely how the coaches were treated by fans this year, even in winning the Natty. I doubt he wants any of that pressure, and I'm also sure it would be a possible pay cut as well.No insight but on top of running an OLine academy in Arizona it looks like Bentley is also part of a sports agency (focused on representing Offensive Linemen).

Hartline and Laurinaitis have really put a dent in my "stop pining for former players" crusade.Wait, so you guys are telling me that all former stand out players wont be Hartline if hired?
I don’t believe you.
I forget where this comes from, but it’s stuck in my brain about Bentley.
In the 2011 recruiting class, the old regime (Bollman, I think, but I’m not exactly sure how the timeline went) was in some combination of being at the end of their tenure, in extenuating circumstances, and being particularly lazy, and relied heavily on LeCharles Bentley for some OL referrals to fill out the class with NE Ohio guys under his tutelage, which resulted in Tommy Brown, Antonio Underwood, and Chris Carter filling out the class.
None of those guys were even close to Ohio State caliber athletes, heavily emphasizing that Bentley either has a really bad eye for talent or kinda screwed over the team by pushing his guys when he should have known better.
For whatever reason (probably because that worked out so poorly) that has always stuck in my head and made me extremely unexcited about the prospect of Bentley being on the staff.
