Staff reports, October 06, 2009 noon

The inaugural Under Armour All-America Game Selection Tour will visit Lakota West High School on Thursday, Oct. 15 to officially present senior linebacker Jordan Hicks with an honorary game jersey. Lakota West Head Football Coach Larry Cox will also be recognized for being named to the Under Armour All-America Game coaching staff.

The Under Armour All-America Game features eighty-five of the nation's top high school football players as selected by ESPN and Scouts Inc. JC Shurburtt: With Jimbo Fisher in place as the coach-in-waiting at Florida State, Bobby Bowden's uncertain future won't have a big effect on recruiting - ESPN

Hicks heading to Austin
The nation's second-ranked overall prospect, Under Armour All-American Jordan Hicks (West Chester, Ohio/Lakota West) will make his official visit to Texas this weekend. A sure sign that the Longhorns and defensive coordinator Will Muschamp are in the mix is the fact that the visit is taking place. Texas typically pulls off out-of-state prospects that it doesn't believe it has an excellent shot at landing.

Also, although it has been believed that his recruitment is a Longhorns-Buckeyes battle, Florida has made a serious push. The Gators reportedly impressed Hicks and members of his family while he was on campus for an unofficial visit for Florida's 23-13 win against Tennessee, and he will take an official to Gainesville in December. You can't count out any of those three schools at this time, but if you have to say who the team to beat is right now, it is probably Florida.

Florida is the team to beat...........

One of the many reasons I don't read ESPN. To think this guy gets a nice paycheck from them too.....simply stunning.

I wrote this three seconds ago in Joyner's thread, but hey, it fits here too!

ESPN saying Florida [strike]State[/strike] is the team to beat is meaningless, and may even bode well for the Buckeyes considering ESPN's track record of being absolutely clueless when it comes to all things recruiting.

I wonder if the SEC-ESPN billions and billions deal will or has it started already (?) to skew their (ESPN) coverage towards SEC member schools discounting other schools not in the SEC and their ability to recruit 4-5 star quality recruits.

Jordan Hicks - College Football Recruiting 2010 - ESPN

Five-star outside linebacker Jordan Hicks (West Chester, Ohio/Lakota West) said during his weekly teleconference that he'll officially visit Florida on Dec. 12th, which will likely be his final trip, ESPN's Gerry Hamilton reports.

There is the possibility that Hicks will schedule official visits to USC and Alabama before his date with the Gators.
