Jim Bollman (Stay calm and run Dave)

Correction: They were loading the box the entire game. The Buckeyes ran it down their throats anyway. They controlled the ball and controlled the clock. Kept their defense fresh and limited possessions for Wisconsin's offense (which if you didn't notice toward the end of the game, is actually quite good).

This was the 2009 Iowa game all over again. It was the correct gameplan and it was executed quite well by the backs and the men in the trenches.

We had to rely on our Freshman on a hail mary to save us on a game that shouldn't have been that close. Put it out of reach. Zero creativity, almost cost us another game.

I speak no ill of Coach Bollman tonight.

Agreed. When the team has a 12-point lead in the last 5 minutes, has the defense allow 2 quick TDs to lose the lead, and then the offense gets a TD in the 1-minute offense to win it, I don't see a reason to complain about the offense.

It's certainly still a legitimate opinion for people to say that they'd prefer that tOSU has a different OC next year, but on BP that needs to be stated in a reasonable and respectful manner.

Ok why call any pass plays, lets just line up and run the ball every play. The problem is we are playing down to our opponents. Why even have to rely on our defense at the end put it out of reach. I'll never agree for unbalanced playcalling, it doesn't make sense when you have playmakers at both positions.

The playmakers in the passing game are mostly freshmen. The playmakers in the running game are juniors and seniors.

As for the bolded part... This is Ohio State. It's what they do. Decades of winning football have been built upon that principle.

I have less problem keeping Fickell as head coach than I do keeping Bollman as OC. The win tonight was great but the body of work, offensively, over his tenure smells of underachievement.

It comes down to whether I think a better OC would get more out of our offensive weapons, or not. I'm willing to roll those dice.

Our decades of winning are based on superior talent to be able to dominate the rest of the conference. There are years in there that it has not been the philosophy. I'm not arguing for 80% pass 20% run. I'd argue that right now the best balance of our offense is 70-60% run and 30-40% pass, but to abandon the pass at points in games is idiotic. Our running game would be even more dominant with a passing game to go along with it. I just want our offense to play to its potential and not play down to its opponent.

You won't catch me disagreeing with that.

I'll second that. He's shown that he can pick up on a quarterbacks strengths. All I've wanted to see is some option thrown in there with Braxton. And he did that, and then some.

Nothing but props for the game plan he brought against Wisky. But, as Jake said, I'd like to see a OC with the ability to use ALL of Ohio State's weapons to their full potential.
