Jim Bollman (Stay calm and run Dave)

Our victory today, satisfying though it was, shouldn't obscure the fact we had only 228 yards of total offense. Not acceptable.

I'm as frustrated with Bollman as anyone but if the first thing you can think to do after today's win is to find something to complain about you have my sympathy. When we are 3-3 coming off a devastating loss and win a road game against a 6-0 team it is okay to enjoy it for a few minutes.

That's why I did my complaining during the game.

Pitch to Hall and screen back to Miller. We should be throwing 5-10 screens a game to take some of the pressure off of the running game. Now that we have 3 RB's lineup Hall some at WR and use his receiving ability.

Shhhhh, dont tell Bollman about screen passes, he doesnt like them new fangled plays

Helping the Future of the Program?

I think there is a lot of validity to be upset, even after a win.

Because whether anyone likes it or not, this is a "rebuilding year". Ohio State hates to have them, but in this case it is required.

When you have a Freshman QB with extremely young WR's you have to question whether or not completing only one pass helps the future of the program. Did Braxton Miller grow a lot yet yesterday? Other than managing the team to his first BT road win, I don't know that he did.

I am not saying they need to be tossing it around 30 or heck even 20 times a game. However, there is validity to whether or not these coaches are coaching for the future of the program when they are trying to hide a freshman QB.

There are going to be growing pains for Braxton, better to have them this year then next. Plus that gameplan will have them blown out at home against Wisconsin.

I like the draw plays with 0 passing yards.

Draw plays don't have to be based off of or counters off of pass plays.

For years, the sprint draw was a staple of tOSU's offense. That's back when we rarely threw it anyway.

We even used it a few years ago very effectively against Washington.

they were effective yesterday too. Now we are complaining about the plays that DO work. Don't lower yourself to the moron play by play guy that was calling the game. He didn't understand the draw plays either.

The quick out was open most of the second half if not most of the game. The Illini DB was typically not even paying attention to the WR as he was looking into the backfield and coming in on corner run support. The fact is that this team is going to need to be able to throw the ball more than 4 times against Wiscy.

Our receivers need to step up as well and start catching the ball when it hits them in the hands. Too many dropped passes this season haven't helped our inexperienced QB's with their confidence.

As I said in the game thread, I would like to see Bollman come down out of the press box and work with the offense on the sideline. I think it would help the team from a teaching\coaching standpoint.

It looked like the offensive staff learned nothing about their team from last week. We were back to running against 9 men in the box, and were only successful because boom was making unblocked defenders look stupid. Not gonna work against Wisconsin.

228 Total yards of total offense and a win. Thank you defense for playing lights out....but why do we continue to count on them to get turnovers to win games. They are just as young as the offense. This team needs marked improvement on offense and it is not there. This is a coaching issue....everyone is making excuses for the offense.

Wisky WILL hang points on our defense next game, that is a fact. How do you counter that? You have to have an offense that can complete a forward pass. WHY do you do play action on third and 14....every single time. It is just plain stupid and it makes the coaching staff look like they are incompetent.

This defense is good enough to hang with Wisky. This could be a blowout because of the offense. 3 and out on offense spells disaster for a young defense....that is what cost us the Nebraska game. These coaches are making huge $$$$, they really need to earn that. Go Bucks
