I'm blaming your game on the alcohol flu too. It had nothing to do with my binge drinking...

...or the LSU plunger rape.

How did that jump pass taste? If I were a Florida fan, I'd want Miles' head on a stick after that bull[Mark May].

Good Lord!! That's what makes the conference fun. I hope to rub something in their face in some future LSU loss. I miss the hate from the UT-FLA years. Like the Mutts end zone celebration a few years ago, if they had not done that the next year's win (with unnecessary use of last second time outs to savor the win ) would not have tasted as sweet.

If we can't stop the Corn Dogs from embarrassing us, it is OUR damn problem, not theirs.

If that upsets me then I need to hand out flags to all of our players to wear and we can skip this whole tackle thing. [censored] LSU. But, for now.

I hope we rape you next year in the Swamp and Cheeseburger throws in a jump pass TD and a fake kick two point conversion to follow.

From Brandon Castel's O-Zone article on the game:
Bauserman came in with a two-touchdown lead.

:so:
Bauserman came in with a two-touchdown lead and instructions to start chucking it instead of handing it off to Hyde. His first play was a long-ish pass attempt even though he had little or no time to warm up. That is a :smash: type coaching call. The world is dumping on Baus when he gave it his all. Now, I'm with you that "his all" may not be enough for a starting QB at tOSU, but it would have been enough to beat Nebraska Saturday night with better play calling after the Brax injury.

Agree with your premise {shudder}, but it was third and long when he came in, so a long-ish pass was probably called for.

What wasn't called for was for him to hit my wife in row 14 with it.

The starting QB went down and thus Joe Bauserman, his backup, had to come in play. Why is Bollman trying to defend Joe's performance and say he was put into a tough spot? Isn't this pretty much the same situation that any backup QB is put in when they're put into a game due to injury to the #1? There's no excuses; a backup QB should be ready for any situation. Having a 2 TD lead = terrible situation?

The playcalling was puzzling to say the least, but come on...

I can think of many worse situations to come into than a two touchdown lead in the second half of a game in which your defense is playing lights out and your offense is controlling the play on the ground.

Come on, Jim.

Just wondering... Did Jim Bollman pee in Earl Bruce's corn flakes, or run off with his wife? About three times a year I hear the post game show with Earl and company and the old coach goes out of his way to ding the guy.

Is there a fued? Bad blood? Or is it simply serious philosophical differences?

maybe Earl Bruce thinks Jim Bollman sucks?

i can't imagine why he would think that...

I agree in principal, but what exactly can you expect him to call when handcuffed by a QB who competes roughly 75% of his passes to the sideline? I'm talking about after Braxton went down, obviously. The offense needed to slow their momentum, but Nebraska could just crowd the box, send the house whenever they felt like it, and dare Joe to complete a pass. He couldn't. No coordinator in the country can be successful with that amount of ineptitude under center. That's where it all starts.

The playcalling tonight wasn't what I'd call great, but it was a step up from the insanity of the Cryami and MSU games. The defense's horrific last 20 minutes and punting instead of trying to go up two scores are the main culprits...my IMO.

running Dave three times and punting every possession would have given the Buckeyes a better chance to win than calling all those passes. why? BECAUSE WHEN YOU ARE UP 14 POINTS AND YOUR STARTING QB GOES OUT, YOU KILL THE CLOCK.

YES, the defense got gassed. and YES, Baus can't hit the ocean from the beach, and YES, Nebraska would stack the box, BUT THE CLOCK WOULD STILL BE RUNNING. Bollman called plays that DIRECTLY BENEFITED THE HUSKERS. every incomplete pass gave Nebraska another chance. and he kept giving them another chance OVER AND OVER AND OVER.

how can anyone even wonder why we lost? it should be patently obvious.

Bollman's playcalling after Brax went out caused Ohio State to lose. THE END.

Maybe Bollman is angry toward Ohio State for forcing Tressel to retire. This bad play calling is his way of getting back at the administration.
