Jameis Winston (QB Browns)

I'll start by saying I'm off this work and extremely bored, so I was watching ESPiN this morning and they showed a Heisman recap....20 of the voters (I believe they asked 100) left Winston off their ballot completely. I could easily see a chunk of voters dropping FSU below OSU because of the whole issue and with OSU due to climb the computer polls if they win out, I think OSU could make it very close in the BCS.

These folks already have Bush to their credit. How do they vote for someone with such charges over their head? That may violate the "innocent till proven guilty" idea, but it is their call.

And you have to ask just why the delay. If there is clearly no case, move on. If there is, file charges. Precisely what is the Meggs waiting for?

And has there ever been a more perfect fall guy than Meggs? "Did I screw up? Oops, my bad. Guess I'll retire. Oh, and thanks boosters for the nice watch."

That's unfair too, but just exploring options on a message board.

IMHO, good for tOSU.

If OSU wins out, you know that Urb will be politicking a bit on TV. So far, it's Urb 1 vs. ESPN/Herbstreit narrative 0.

I think it's going to dawn upon a lot of national voters that voting F$U into the title game is going to be like voting for the next president that may or may not have cancer and the results would only be known a week after election. If OSU can win the next two impressively it's going to be awfully close.
Mah good suh, ah you implyin' that we in tha South live by diffunt rules than you in the Nowth? You appeah to be sayin' tha' tha' young scrap of trailer trash might be innocent and a victim. You an' the sherriff need to remove y'alls noses from bidness thas none of yo concern.

Wa the nex' thing you know you'll be suggestin' tha Johnnah Fuhball sold his autograph. And then you be tryin' to tell me tha all tha money din't go right straight into Reverun' Newton's church repair fun'. Y'all need to go cook y'alls turkeys and leave fuhball to those who 'ppreciate it.

Shame on you, suh, for you have impugned the reputation and honor of the South and fuhball, two of the most honorable institutions known to God and Jeff Davis.

It would be incredibly glorious if alabama lost to auburn, putting osu and fsu in the title game and then winston was charged and suspended. the collective abortion from ESPN would be beyond hilarious.

Absolutely the nightmare scenario. They're already prepping the "well, FSU's schedule is just as weak or weaker than Ohio State's" narrative and with the uncertainty around Winston, really everyone is just looking for a reason... or at worst, hoping Ohio State gives them a reason to jump them.

Here is what they don't want, a shitstorm over this QB that chases away advertizers. FSU is looking like the team most at risk of missing the NC game. And Alabama is going to lose one. It is getting very interesting.

And now there’s Clary Travis, an indisputably sharp writer who isn’t afraid to offer dissenting opinions. He’s capable of insightful analysis – the guy’s a lawyer. He can also troll with the best of them - he wrote a piece ranking the dumbest fanbases in America, where Ohio State finished third. He was very critical of Urban Meyer regarding the Aaron Hernandez situation, and he criticized Meyer about Carlos Hyde as well. But while Travis can bait fans, he’s not a one-trick pony.

This week, he wrote about the Jameis Winston situation at Florida State compared to the Hyde situation at Ohio State. They are different – but how the coaches are handling them can be compared to some degree.

And Travis wrote that if Meyer continued to play Winston in this situation, he’d get killed by the media because “Urban Meyer and Ohio State are being held to a different standard than Florida State.”

Fans too often take any criticism from the media as “hating.” More often than not, it’s just a writer with an opinion (we’re not talking about the Mark May song and dance). But if fans can take the criticism and handle it, a good, fair writer will eventually come around and make a point the other way that fans may find themselves agreeing with.

Winston's lawyer released a statement saying they want the StateAttorney to come to a decision sooner rather than later. Said the delay is concerning because his client's reputation is being harmed by the delay and it could influence the Heisman vote.

Alright, now this is odd... well, not odd. But, if we go back to Kyle's previous commentary regarding how Winston was acting and how it seemed suspicious, I was thinking at the time... if he had a lawyer worth a broke dick, the lawyer would have laid out in no uncertain terms what could happen to him. And, if that attorney did say, "Hey man, look, here's what this girl is accusing you of, and if they choose to believe her and not you, here is what they're gonna do to you" And that's how it should have been laid out before him. In which case he would and should be scared shitless. And if said attorney was worth a broke dick, he's realize that's the case, and what could happen to his client is a shit ton more important than a heisman trophy and FSU's 2013 season. So... right now, I'm leaning more toward Kyle's analysis.
