Jameis Winston (QB Browns)

The way I'm reading those statements...if you insert the TPD telling her "[Mark May] gon' go bad fer her if she keeps on", in between the two statements....

It's like the lawyer was saying that the woman had not told the police to stop doing their job, but after they basically told her to shut her whore mouth or else, she was trying to get on with her life because, well, the popo made it clear to her they weren't planning on doing [Mark May], and if she didn't move on, bad things could might happen *winkwink

I don't see the conflict. If the girl is raped and it is clear that the police do not want to proceed, she can keep trying to get them to proceed but she must at the same time try to move on with her life. It's been nearly a year. Why let a rape bring your life to a halt, while you relive it every day?

Not agreeing or disagreeing, merely pointing out the possible consistency.

John Cooper raped me repeatedly for over a decade, and I haven't been able to let it go.

That would be where I'd lean as well.
But if I'm sticking to what can be verified, it's not clear whether she intended to pursue the matter, or intends to now.
Her lawyers statements amounts to saying that they hadn't ruled out going further, but hadn't made a firm decision either... which also jives with the statement that she was seeking counseling while they waited (fruitlessly) for the Police to get Winston's DNA and conduct interviews.

I don't see any statement from either her, or her lawyer that indicate to me that she is not participating in the investigation. As for pursuing the matter, it is really out of her hands at this point, as victims do not bring charges in criminal matters, the state does.

I think you're sticking words in my mouth.
I said nothing about her "participation" or implied that the Prosecutor isn't able to bring charges w/o her.
However, her approach and willingness to testify is a major factor if the Prosecutor wishes to charge Winston. **IF** she doesn't wish to testify (and who could blame her w/the situation being what it is), the Prosecutor has a lot less to work with.

well if a puppy is going to rape you it will do it while its young

Redshirt freshman young?

The Tallahassee PD did their best Coop also.
"It's just another rape. We prepare for this investigation like every other." Then they talk shit to the other side, forget to do any actual work, then look incompetent in the national media.

The difference between this case and Coop is that in this case nobody knows if the pumpkin'n was with or without consent... With Coop we all knew that the pumpkin'n was unwelcome and dry... and he had an uncanny ability to pumpkin us all simultaneously... and twice on homecoming.
