Actually, I lied. It was already in there; in case of extraordinary circumstances:

I wonder where they got that Idea?

Before the game Warrick, who won't be allowed to play until the charge is dropped or lowered to a misdemeanor, stood before his teammates and apologized. "Pete is a guy who doesn't show a lot of emotion," Weinke said after the victory. "I know he felt as low as he has ever felt. He knows he let the team down." As Warrick stood before the team, freshman flanker Greg Moore spoke up from the rear of the locker room. "We got your back, Pete," he said. "We got your back."

Carlos Hyde got three games for shoving a girl in a bar (after she hit him first). He was accused of assaulting a woman in a bar, and no charges were filed.

Just makes me wonder: What would Urban Myer do in a situation like this (i.e. Winston accused of rape)?

Twitterverse has found the victim out, traced her tweets all the way back. Jameis girlfriend as well
I'm assuming that picture is just the latest FSU fanboy spin.
In any case, this might be the origin and its first appearance on the internet: http://twicsy.com/i/7itYne
The tweet has since been deleted. But as we all know, nothing on the 'net ever truly goes away.
This girl was supposedly the girl he thought was the victim, so he thought that everything went down was consensual

That flies in the face of his lawyer's statement that it was consensual with the victim, however.
If he thought he had sex with a different girl; the DNA demonstrates that's not what happened.
If that's his defense... ummm... have a fun time in jail =/

It has been reported that:

a. Favors Thompson said the woman was intoxicated after drinking at a local bar

b. As expected, Jansen acknowledged a sexual encounter between his client and the alleged victim but said it was “absolutely” consensual. Two eyewitnesses, one of whom Jansen stated also submitted a DNA example, would exonerate his client of any wrongdoing, the lawyer said.

Hypothetical lawyer question: Under Florida law if you have a "sexual encounter" with a woman who is so drunk that she can't resist and/or doesn't know what is going on, is it considered a rape?

I'm guessing YES.

My italics above. Lawyer trying to plant a seed for the notion that the victim was indiscriminately banging multiple guys on the same night? If so, pretty disgusting.

The lawyer defending his client is just doing his job. You want disgusting, go read the comments of any article pertaining to this.

I'm a lawyer myself. And one who deliberately works in a setting where I'm more of a technician than an advocate so I don't have to do crap like that and convince myself that it's just my job. That said, I have no doubt that many of the comments are far more disgusting. In this day and age, one can look at the comments to an article about needlepoint and with five comments there will a reference to Obama sodomizing a donkey or some such.

Well I hear ya, but I'm thankful there are lawyers that defend scum.
