I don't agree with everything Gator posts here, however this statement is a bit too harsh. I think Gator has started that he is not defending the SEC but his alma mater. Who wouldn't on this board do the same for our team on another board? As to how many post he has in this thread who the heck cares if if it is one or 100 he has a valid point and should be able to express his viewpoint. In my view he has not crossed the line and if we ban him for any other comment on this board we are no better than the other board we make fun of around here about their "knee jerk" reaction.....sorry to be so pointed but I strongly believe that we should allow different opinion and I realize this is a Buckeye board and we (as a collective group) would like for all these troubles to go away but it appears we have an issue and I share everyone's frustration with the NCAA and their dragging their feet. Excellent post by the way BB that addresses every Buckeye's perception of the NCAA's lack of consistency, but I reiterate Gator has not crossed a line and we shouldn't use draconion methods to silence him....

Average number of words per post not even being a consideration, a couple of posts is not crossing the line. The line was crossed a couple hudo posts ago.

It's far from draconion at this point.

Some AP info

link

NCAA spokeswoman Stacey Osburn says in an email response to The Associated Press that Ohio State is still pulling information to answer all of the NCAA's questions.
Cornerback Travis Howard, safety Corey "Pittsburgh" Brown and running back Jordan Hall have sat out the first two games after they admitted breaking NCAA rules by accepting cash for going to a charity event in Cleveland earlier this year - after several other teammates were suspended for accepting improper benefits from a tattoo-parlor owner.

sounds like they may be pissed about the timing of when it happened
I dunno

I want them back

I'm just sick of this BS. It's football season, I thought the off-season from hell would end when football started. We need to be debating about how many picks Jacory harris is going to throw to us this weekend not fighting about this [Mark May]!

Wasn`t there a 2 game precedent set in the past on something like this? Troy Smith comes to mind. Is it going to get to the point where everyone just does what the SEC does and just tell the NCAA to catch us if you can. Go Bucks

How dare you blatantly attack an upstanding school such as Florida with your scurrilous, wide-sweeping criticisms of the SEC!!!1!!1!!

The NCAA has guidelines on the % of a season that a student/athlete is required to miss after repaying any impermissible benefits received.

<$100 = 0 games
between $100 and $300 = 10% of a season (1 game in football)
between $300 and $500 = 20% of a season (2 games in football)
greater than $500 = 30% of a season (4 games in football)

The length of the suspensions can be reduced if a hardship is involved.

That's why Troy got 2 games for $500. A hardship for Marcell Dareus (the hardship despite the fact that he went to Miami twice, when he's from Birmingham) is why he also got two games for $1787 in impermissible benefits.

That I wish I knew. It seems that the NCAA has some questions that weren't answered to their satisfaction as of last Friday.

The 'cooperation' of the athletes can also be a factor in the determination of the length of a suspension. And any athlete that gives incorrect information to the NCAA incurs their full wrath, as Maurice Clarett and Dez Bryant have learned in the past.

Officially, they've only missed two games. I believe someone linked a story earlier where Gene said he disagreed with the NCAA's decision to hold them out a 2nd game. Leads me to believe that the NCAA was doing some further investigating. I would expect that this should either be dealt with this week or this could go on for a while.
