Indians Tidbits (2009 season)

the dreaded Tomo Ohka blows the 5-1 lead

5-5 now

it was clear Ohka was hanging everything over the plate and wasnt going to get anyone out, but the genius himself Eric Wedge let him continue to pitch anyway

:slappy: 15 strikeouts tonight for these bums, most of which came against the ever so feared Carlos Torres (??), Randy Williams(??) and DJ Carrassco

Tomo Ohka has taken the spot as the comic reliever, he was hanging everything over the plate tonight, and opie just let him keep throwing until he coughed up the lead

As a Reds fan, I would like to issue a formal apology for all the btching we do in our thread. I am so sorry for the dumbfuckery and assclownery you guys are subjected to on a near-nightly basis.

Jesus. These guys really ARE shitty.

Cincy's gone 7-21 since I made this post while Cleveland's gone 15-12. The Reds are now half a game better than the Tribe. This is what I get for trying to be sympathetic. :slappy:

The Indians need to sign Laffey, Sowers, Carmona, Huff and Rondon immediately to long-term contracts:biggrin2: along with Todd, C Perez and may be Sipp and get rid of all the other trash currently in the bullpen.

It also might be a good idea to try and lock upCarroll and let him play either first or third base next season or even be the DH. At least he can put the bat on the ball unlike some of the other guys our brilliant manager plays.

I wonder if someone could explain to me why they played AM at third base in Columbus all season and then bring him up to Cleveland and put him at first. What are they going to do with all those outfielders we have been a minor leagues. I would think moving one of those guys to first base might be easier than any other position since we have more outfielders then we need or maybe we can use them for trade bait.

I believe I read that Marte played 3rd while Hodges was down, but oved across the infield to first when Hodges got healthy.

That could be true but I don't think Hodges was healthy much of the season. I guess I thought LaPorta was supposed to be the Indians first baseman and Marte was supposed to be the future at third. I don't like the Indians organization handling their prospects like the Reds do which is not very good since I don't know when.

Can the Red Sox have Masterson back?
No and Nooo!! I love what I have seen of him. I almost would have taken him for Victor straight up. I think that we got more from Boston than we did from Philadelphia when it comes to talent.

Nice job with the Yankees over the weekend:(

+1

I love the sink he gets on the ball. Almost impossible to hit when he mixes it in with his nasty slider. Word is he's working on a change up as well. Gonna need more than two pitches if he's gonna be in the rotation full-time.

Best part is he wasn't even considered the centerpiece of the trade, Hagadone was.

Carmona just signed a long term deal last year, then promptly fell apart. I'm waiting to see a few good outings in a row from him. I like Laffey, but I think he'd be best utilized in middle relief. Huff...meh. I see another Sowers in him. Sowers will never be more than a #5 starter, despite a couple of good starts the past few weeks and also might be better suited fr bullpen work. I am excited about Rondon. Todd and Perez look promising, but Sipp needs to get his control together.

Carroll is a good kind of player to have around, especially on a young team, because he can fill a lot of roles, but he's best utilized as a utility player. If he's playing fulltime, his numbers will suffer. Despite the good play the past couple weeks, his overall offensive production #'s are poor for any of those positions.

Marte played 1B most of this summer. Wedge loves him some Peralta, so he's not going to displace him. LaPorta has been mentioned at 1B, but has limited experience there. He's getting that now in C-bus and I would expect him up in the next couple of weeks.
