Doesn’t the Mattison Move Reek of Desperation?

I am stunned by the news and am shocked at Mattison. That being said, OSU’s best coaching hire for DC was to hire Michigan’s 70 year old position coach?
To me, this announces they feel in a position of weakness (for whatever reason) and will do whatever it takes to take the spotlight off themselves/insecurities.
The right response here is for Harbaugh to go on TV and laugh at their desperation - change the script. It’s their feeling of inferiority that caused this move. Take Hand.
Like what I'm hearing on Al Washington. Nanners could be warming up.
So
Mattison: Front 7 DC and Mentor to Hafley and Washington
Larry Johnson: D Line and Associate HC (pay him and keep him as long as possible)
Washington: LB
Hafley: Safeties and his co-DC position has him looking over the shoulder of the CB coach. Guessing future sole DC
Who are the possibilities for CB coach right now?
I think this is the main reason why grinch left.. he wanted to be sole DCI don't think we will ever have sole DCs with Day. He wants two minds breaking down D tape cause he has no experience doing it. The model is a Passing Coordinator and a Running Coordinator on both sides.
I think you see Washington move into Mattisons role in 3 years.
If we can land Raymond in that final spot to coach CBs.... holy batman.
And no better time than the 2020 class to have some stud recruiters on staff. Very deep class with a ton of kids looking seriously at OSU.Literally one more coaching spot to add and if they get Corey Raymond it completes what I thought was a dream scenario. Not only is this staff Young but they are the best at what they do and from all intents and purposes are Dynamic recruiters.
Was Freeman a backup option to Washington?Corey Raymond is the main target right now.
Josh Boyer is a guy I would have targeted but they also need to be sensitive to how many African American coaches they have on staff.
Some other names I like: Hank Poteat, Kim McCloud, Brandon Shelby.
Not to my knowledge but I don't really know. Not sure if ever got that far. Was his name discussed within the WHAC? I'm sure it was. Not sure there was any real contact. Was Freeman a backup option to Washington?
