Impending Assistant Coach Vacancies

It seems telling that Hartline reached out to a CB target over Taver.

Eh, probably Hartline's region and not Tavers. Wouldn't read too much into that.

It seems plausible that he was upset about Schiano sticking around and staying in charge (like we had any control over that) and he half assed it (or worse) the entire year.

I can see him being upset but as a young (co-)DC who has yet to prove himself, not giving 100% while at a big-time program would be an incredibly short-sighted move at best and career-damaging at worst. I'm guessing his lack of recruiting success was more due to undeveloped skills than lack of effort, since he's still a young coach and since he probably didn't get much practice recruiting 4 and 5*'s out at WSU.

Right; 'bye guys....it's been real! Going to take my potential 50% raise and where defensive expectations are keep them under a half century!'.

Plus, the cost of living in Oklahoma I hear is 1/100th of Cleveland even.
He better do something at OU or it's history. They can't get much worse being ranked what 117th in defense.

1.5 million is absolutely dumb though. Maybe he does decent and takes them to a top 50 defense. However I don't think he will ever be a good recruiter. I just don't see it with him there.

If that's what it takes to keep Lincoln happy, you pay it and don't bat an eye.

They had $58 million in profit in 2017, so not like they can't pony it up.

Lastly, he doesn't need to recruit for them. Dennis Simmons, Kerry Cooks, and Calvin Thibodeaux are so good that he can take it easier.

Something tells me that we have a legit shot at Raymond. I’m thinking that he was offered the Co-DC job and a significant pay increase. Probably giving LSU the opportunity to counter. Problem for them is, Aranda makes 2.5 million per year.

Just a guess, I think Ohio State keeps Schiano then adds Raymond and Washington. Could be wishful thinking though.
