Impending Assistant Coach Vacancies

Something tells me that we have a legit shot at Raymond. I’m thinking that he was offered the Co-DC job and a significant pay increase. Probably giving LSU the opportunity to counter. Problem for them is, Aranda makes 2.5 million per year.

Just a guess, I think Ohio State keeps Schiano then adds Raymond and Washington. Could be wishful thinking though.
I think this too... we have the money to spend since Day makes less than Urban so no reasons not to go get Raymond for 1.5 a year

If that's what it takes to keep Lincoln happy, you pay it and don't bat an eye.

They had $58 million in profit in 2017, so not like they can't pony it up.

Lastly, he doesn't need to recruit for them. Dennis Simmons, Kerry Cooks, and Calvin Thibodeaux are so good that he can take it easier.
Eventually they'll lose those people... then what?

I'd be furious as a coach if I had to carry more burden because someone can't do their job.
I'd rather have Washington/Raymond than Freeman and someone else.

I suppose we could have Washington/Freeman but both coach LBs.
I guess one with the ILB, and the other OLB. Or have Washington work with LJsr, and Freeman stick to LBs.

I think he’d come for half that. He’s making 425k. 750k would perk his ears up.
Make it an even 800K. Our program makes a boatload of money and $4million freed up with the coaching vacancies, IIRC.

Doubling a guys salary, getting him out of the SEC West - into the BiG East but the best facilities by far - and the chance to legitimately be in the CFP every year without facing Bama first? Who wouldnt jump at that?

Speculation that I was reading said four assistants on D were to be replaced.

LJ ain’t one of them.

Grinch is gone.

Speculation would then be, pretty much everyone not LJ.

Davis, Taver and Greg. That’s if the speculation that all four were gone. I think it’s an easy case to make for Davis and Taver. Part of me thinks that Greg stays one more year or is the last of the four to go as he may be holding out for a NFL gig.

Personally, I like the idea of Freeman to replace Grinch in the DC side. Could argue that he get the LBs. Al Washington comes in and takes DLine tutelage from LJ. Corey Raymond from LSU is being thrown around as a potential DB coach replacement. Not sure if I buy it yet, but he was on the radar after Coombs left. Would be a pretty solid hire from a recruiting perspective. Who’s #4? That’s where I think that Greg could stay for one more year. We’d need a DB coach...
