I may be remembering wrong, but didn't LJSr have some less than flattering things to say about the Tressel administration and their relationship/treatment of African American student athletes? I believe this was a major criticism of his recruiting philosophy.
If true (and again, I'm probably misremembering), why would A) He want to accept a position at OSU, particularly one that may be an attempt to meet a minority quota? and B) Why would OSU want anyone with this history on their staff?
Feel free to delete this if I'm as off base as I hope I am... if that makes sense.
I love the hire, if it comes to fruition. He's an excellent teacher, kids love him, and he recruits like a mad man. Great get.
I'm not crazy about it personally, but I understand it. It's a business move, and a smart one.Yeah I understand... but something just doesn't feel right about this...
see: Urban Meyer threadWhether fans like it or not, Larry Johnson Sr is set to be THE Ohio state's next d line coach. Waste time bitching if you want. Or get over it and embrace the man as one of our own now. He recruited negatively and played the race card, blah blah blah. Hes OUR coach now. And if we win the big ten title next year and hopefully an NC, a lot of these posts all of us will have forgotten about or laughed

Apples to oranges. To the best of my knowledge, Urban was never part of a staff that included child molesters, i.e., there is no reason to think that Urban was ever part of a child molestation cover-up.
I haven't forgotten anything in that thread. God just came to me in a dream and told me to look the other way now.see: Urban Meyer thread
