Lot of faux lightning tonight. A couple times I thought it might be the cops showing up to tell me to turn down the volume on my movie out here in the garage...Its sprinkling a little now and the humidity dropped. Lawn needs mowed again. Mowed two days ago. Usually by now its burnt and brown. But its still growing like crazy with all this rain...

Erika is getting way too much hype down here for a storm that has yet to eclipse 60 mph gusts. You would think that Katrina 2 was heading towards us listening to the news.

Love how they predict it to hit hurricane status only when it might hit land.

Edit: I knew this was going to be a non-event.

lol.
the local news/weather people here try to get like that when a weak one heads in. they try to warn people and get them to evacuate, etc. but they're typically not very convincing, and you can tell they don't even believe what they saying.

Watching all this Erika ridiculousness on lunch with a coworker and we're rolling our eyes at the hype. Unless the rain is enough to come up my driveway which is a good 6+ inch elevation change, this is going to just be a slightly longer summer storm.

Hey all you news stations here in Florida hyping Erika out your asses: :slappy: :slappy: :slappy:

Couldn't even see a rotational center, the storm had barely moved on a northern track, and it wasn't even going to hit hurricane strength, and yet they still tried to hype it up and got everyone riled up. You can tell how long it's been since a real storm hit, because it seems almost like the news stations want it to happen.

Guy I work with was running around and asking everybody what he should be doing to get prepared for the "hurricane" coming. His biggest fear was that he didn't know how to put up his hurricane shutters. I chuckled and told him he shouldn't have to worry about this one because it was going to be nothing, and he was freaked out about how calm I was. He is originally from Philadelphia, and moved down here about three years ago.
