I was explaining to my 14 year old step idiot how rare this winter is. And how he'll remember this forever. He didn't care....It really should be legal to kill children. I mean come on, they suck...Ok, maybe not kill them, but at least maim them a little. Dumbasses....I'm gonna trick him to go outside tomorrow, and tackle him face first in the snow...

His sorry ass is going in the snow tomorrow.

We broke out the sleds and hot chocolate on snow days. We made the most awesome deep fried home made doughnuts on snow days. They put on headphones and sit in front of the xbox. Beat them. Beat them while you still can...

We're warming up from another stretch of single digit temps (wind chills in the -5 to -20 range) this afternoon. It's going to get in the 20s..........but start snowing for the next 20 hours.............and then drop back into the Arctic temp range.

I have a Muscovites appreciation for a good, cold and snowy Winter (helped by owning a Bernese Mountain Dog for ten years), but I am through with this fucking Winter.

Here's a thought. What if Trump is right? An alternative, charitable reading of the tweet reveals Trump to be an impassioned climate change policy advocate with up-to-date knowledge of peer-reviewed science as it relates to our current cryogenic state.

"After all, global warming is expensive and growing more so. And, as weird as it sounds, global warming can play an indirect role in the occasional deep freeze.

The Arctic is heating faster than the rest of the world, hurried along by the disappearance of polar sea ice. Bright white ice reflects energy back into space; dark blue water absorbs it. Arctic temperatures are about 2 degrees Celsius warmer there than they were in the mid-1960s. (The average temperature increase for the Earth's atmosphere overall is about 0.7 degree C, since 1900.)

In other words, the temperature difference between the Arctic and North America is shrinking. That's one factor causing wobbliness in the jet stream, the west-east current that circles the Northern Hemisphere, according to Jennifer Francis, research professor at Rutgers University. Normally, that river of air keeps low-pressure cold air contained above the Arctic and holds higher-pressure warm air above the temperate regions, where most people live.

Scientists tend to call the jet stream a "polar vortex," Francis says."

Blame it all on a wobbly jet stream...and Al Gore

a typical south Louisiana winter day.

temps hovered just above freezing with a misty drizzly rain and winds about 5-10.
not cold enough to freeze or turn to snow.
but cold enough to make the wet a completely miserable.

i'm seriously ready to be back in the 90's with triple digit heat index.

I delivered papers in subzero temps one day in '73 or '74 in Austintown. Good thing it was only a 50-55 house route. I don't remember the actual date, but I do remember thinking, "Is this shit worth it?", and realizing how rare it was for Youngstown to get below zero...

By the way, last night was the coldest night I've seen in the 15+ years I've lived up in Mililani (54 degrees)...

Note to self: "Self, do not, repeat DO NOT attempt to be the good employee and try to make the 35 mile drive to work in near blizzard conditions, you will most likely find yourself in a ditch out in the country causing severe damage to the front end of your car, and freezing your fool ass off waiting two hours for a tow truck to show up at 11 o'clock at night"
