I am flying into Columbus tomorrow for my cousin's wedding this Saturday. I was checking the weather to see what I should pack (besides the dress clothes for the wedding). Forecast for the weekend is about 10 degrees hotter each day up there than down here. Never thought I would be looking forward to getting back to South Florida for cooler weather.

Yeah, but they don't tend to have the humidity. I'd take an average 100 day up there over an 85-90 day down here any day.

Speaking of which, damn today was a hot ass day, and the rain didn't help, just made it worse. My 78 house felt like the arctic when I got home.

We may not have it as much as florida, but there's plenty of humidity here. It was over 90% for most of this weekend. So it's fucking hot.

I don't live in the swamp that is Disney World. :p There is definitely as much, if not more, humidity during Mid West summers as there is in Central Florida.

Move to the coast, much less humidity.

When we flew out of Columbus Sunday, it was 92 and humid as hell. We landed in Ft Lauderdale and it was 82 and pleasant.

Humidity can be at 99%, if there's a breeze like there is in much/most of Fla, it doesn't really feel that bad. The hottest place I've ever been over a summer is central/southern GA. No fucking wind. 90% humidity, over 90 degrees every motherfucking day. It was absurd.

Spent a few months in Northern NV and SE Washington state. Despite temperatures over 100 daily, never really felt that bad. Dudes were walking around in jeans.

Winter on South Africa's southern coast (i.e., Port Elizabeth, George, East London) is remarkably like summer. Usually sunny. About 68-76F high and 48-60F low. Cape Town is colder, windier, and less sunny but still not a chance of snow or real cold.

When I think that the weather today compares to December in Columbus, I feel very fortunate indeed.
