How does work make you feel today?

Well, my job in Florida might be changing in the near future! Just got a call to schedule a phone interview. The move is technically pretty lateral (still basic level hourly), but the pay scale would be a slight bump up. With any luck, I can hope to be back in Florida permanently within a month!

Two months ago, I make cuts after peak season is over. One of the guys that I cut, instead of being let go, was given a chance to take a weekend shift. He declined. They then gave him the opportunity to keep the same shift in a different dept. He took it. Fine. Now I find out he was hired into our company from the temp service AHEAD of people that were good enough to not be cut. This place is a fucking joke.

Glad to have an interview tomorrow, but timing couldn't be worse with my current job in terms of leaving with my boss still liking me (and thus killing a good reference). We just had our big annual campaign kick-off breakfast this morning, and I'm not looking forward to the possibility of needing to give my two weeks tomorrow. I'm hoping the interview goes well, I get one of those "you have it, but your real offer won't come for a few days to a week" so I can wait until things settle back down in a few days to give my notice.

Oh well, such is life in a small office.

so a month after my first interview I still haven't heard word whether I got the job with the baseball team or not, I had a 2nd interview roughly 2.5 weeks ago....I called him yesterday to to ask him wtf, and just said they're still in the process and will let me know when he has more info

ugh, take longer

It took almost 2 months from my 1st interview to me being hired for my current job. I had about 2 interviews in that time. Don't get discouraged

I'm chalking it up to incompetence. I used to like this job. It's about time for me to move on. I just wish construction would pick back up so I could go back to what I like.

On a positive note, I found out that my requested vacation for the first week of March Madness/ My Birthday was denied. I either have to take it next week or after March. I'll be taking it next week. Just got my first tax check as a father. I didn't know I was capable of love like this.
