HC Ryan Day (2019 B1G Media COY)

Man what the hell happened to Stover. Stover from the first few games probably makes every single one of those catches.. His hands were rediculous and probably a few more of those blocks

No idea. Same with Fleming. Looked like a big play threat and then fell off a cliff. He never showed the ability to get yac either.

too busy trying to explain how he and him teammates aren’t soft..when in fact according to Michigan they are who they said they were..

Last thing I care about is what those POS assholes have to say. And that should go doubly for everyone in the WHAC. Enough worrying about them running their mouths and their shit talk. Play your fucking game, not theirs.

Even with time, CJ never looked confident today, and hasn't since MSU. I thought (blindly hoped) it was an aberration, but it's clear that the passing broke down following the bye. Outside a few explosive plays, it's mostly been short throws, missed throws/drops, and screens with little YAC. It's almost as if Day hoped they'd turn a corner instead of addressing it.

They needed to lean on the running game more, but it's hard to blame Day for being cautious with a freshman and an LB that switched back to RB 3 weeks prior. I think he'll look back and deeply regret not riding Hayden as a bellcow.

I really wonder how much of the offense remained planned around JSN in the hope that he would be back. Or how much they had to retain certain schemes because that's what they practiced since Spring. Day deserves a lot of blame, but JSN solves so many issues that the offense has.

For all the talk about a mobile QB, it's other positions that i think Day needs to reevaluate to run the offense he wants. He wants to run zone but his RBs don't get upfield. He wants to run screens but his WRs/TEs can't block or are unwilling to. And he lacks a TE that makes contested catches.
I think he will look back at alot of bullshit that happened this season, and yet again, do some soul searching. Because there were so many red flags that he kept saying were going to be addressed, but just didn't do it.

I think he is actually falling into traps that OSU used to make TTUN fall into, which does not instill confidence.

Day seems to run or build everything around the individual player and not the system or process. That’s why we look disjointed when a major guy goes down despite having even higher ranked recruits. That’s why he talks about guys playing more t they never see the field. He makes promises to individual plays he can’t keep

But that's what most coaches do. No one can replicate JSN, just like no one could replicate Devonta Smith in '20. He has a system, but you always tweak it around your best players.

Whether he makes promises, I don't know.

Ballard wasn’t given much of a chance after his thrilling breakout play vs Toledo. The system would have benefitted from a ultra speedy WR…..but Day favored struggling Fleming

Ryan Day was given a job beyond his pay grade. Ohio State should have a proven head coach. Ryan Day is not who we hoped he was.

Which is just a gut punch of a realization. That 2019 team damn well could've won it all and 2020 I thought showed a lot of heart and resiliency knocking the monkey off our back in Clemson. 2021 I chalked up to a bad hire. Day wiping the slate clean on the defensive staff was encouraging. But he coached a tight team all year and now we're living in the 90s again.

playing our game got our asses handed to us the last 2 years..it also had us kicking there ass aswell when we weren’t a finesse team..I care about what they say because they have talked shit and backed it up. Osu said they didn’t care and proceeded to shit the bed 2 years in a row. Ion know brother. Shits frustrating I tell u that.

I love CJ but I'm also ready to see our next QB. No more dejected body language, someone who will put his shoulder down for a touchdown from the 5 yard line and someone who will light our offenses ass up on the sidelines if we have no juice.
That's something I've noticed for two years now, and not just from C.J. Don't get me wrong, I love CJ for what he's done but that lack of fire and passion seems to be missing from the whole team. I think back to the 1 point come from behind win against PSU in the Shoe, with J.T. running up and down the bench getting in guys faces screaming "this is our house!" firing the team up. Where is that fire with this team? Hell, my wife has even commented about it several times. Every time they show the sideline, it seems like the guys are just sitting there emotionless.
I'm not saying I think they don't care because I'm sure they do, but it's just something else that has seemed "off" for a couple years now.

I always watch the team run on the field. For some reason I feel it gives me a sense of their mood for the game. I didn’t see anyone coming on to the field yesterday who looked fired up. I just don’t see any passion with Ryan Day teams.

I would expect a Stover or an Eich to be a leader and try to fire the team up, but I see nothing coming from anyone on this team.

Zach Harrison seemed very passionate yesterday……JT too. But that is it.

As disheartening as this year and last year have been, let’s remember that Jimbo started 0-5 against OSU and pussed out in year 6. UM fans were ready for him to leave and he was begging for an NFL job. It’s been two incredibly disappointing and agonizing losses for OSU, but Day is no idiot and I DO believe he is capable of getting this turned around.
