As disheartening as this year and last year have been, let’s remember that Jimbo started 0-5 against OSU and pussed out in year 6. UM fans were ready for him to leave and he was begging for an NFL job. It’s been two incredibly disappointing and agonizing losses for OSU, but Day is no idiot and I DO believe he is capable of getting this turned around.
Finn is a pipe dream.
That would clean out the QB room.
Day doesn’t value the QB run. Period.
It’s obvious in recruiting.
Stroud, Ewers, and wait until you see Riola.
I don’t get it other then it helps your chances of keeping the QB healthy.
We have become a throwing QB/WR centric program.
I think it impacts our toughness, running game and defense.
Pass first teams tend to not have elite defense.
It’s a what have you done for me business..and day is 0-2 the last 2 years and that idiot in Ann abor is 2-0. The did duck us in 2020..so what at this point. Not personal to you just saying go out and get the dub don’t wanna hear excuses from day or anyone
What bothers me most of about this. Is Ryan Day went out of his fucking way all season and hurt us in games to disprove what Harbaugh and Gattis said only to fail in the same way. There needs to be some hard self scouting on what D's are doing to our offense especially there's. And some acceptance of who you are as a football team and realize you aren't ever going to be Harbaugh in the run game don't waste valuable season reps trying to prove you can be.I don’t disagree with any of that. I’m not interested in excuses, either. Results matter and, despite the results against the rest of the B1G over the last two years, the performance against UM has been sorely lacking. I want and expect better, too.

The crazy thing, is we really didn't even pass today. I couldn't believe what I was seeing. We have these talented receivers, and it was just not utilized in any way that played to our strengths.
I think Day is throwing horseshit at everybody when he say's he has special plays drawn up for this game.
The whole season felt disjointed right from game 1. Only 21 pts at home vs nd...
Man what the hell happened to Stover. Stover from the first few games probably makes every single one of those catches.. His hands were rediculous and probably a few more of those blocksEven with time, CJ never looked confident today, and hasn't since MSU. I thought (blindly hoped) it was an aberration, but it's clear that the passing broke down following the bye. Outside a few explosive plays, it's mostly been short throws, missed throws/drops, and screens with little YAC. It's almost as if Day hoped they'd turn a corner instead of addressing it.
They needed to lean on the running game more, but it's hard to blame Day for being cautious with a freshman and an LB that switched back to RB 3 weeks prior. I think he'll look back and deeply regret not riding Hayden as a bellcow.
I really wonder how much of the offense remained planned around JSN in the hope that he would be back. Or how much they had to retain certain schemes because that's what they practiced since Spring. Day deserves a lot of blame, but JSN solves so many issues that the offense has.
For all the talk about a mobile QB, it's other positions that i think Day needs to reevaluate to run the offense he wants. He wants to run zone but his RBs don't get upfield. He wants to run screens but his WRs/TEs can't block or are unwilling to. And he lacks a TE that makes contested catches.
I thought after the Wisconsin game he was never the same. He for sure fell off a cliff though late this season. Then again he hasn't played this much football in a very long time.Man what the hell happened to Stover. Stover from the first few games probably makes every single one of those catches.. Day seems to run or build everything around the individual player and not the system or process. That’s why we look disjointed when a major guy goes down despite having even higher ranked recruits. That’s why he talks about guys playing more t they never see the field. He makes promises to individual plays he can’t keepEven with time, CJ never looked confident today, and hasn't since MSU.
