HC Ryan Day (2019 B1G Media COY)

soo if you look Tress won a Natty in his 3rd year… probably should have won another one in ‘05 but that was the last team he had that would contend. Got blown out (complete beatdown I’d say) in ‘06, ‘07 was a fluke … then wheels kept coming off… got blown out by USC at USC there are a few others (including a bowl game loss to Tejas) but beat scum like a drum…

Urban won a title in his … 3rd year again right? ‘14… ‘15 had the bad loss to Sparty with the team that shoulda went back to back… a myriad of other bad losses to bad teams including an inept 31-0 complete beatdown by Clemp’son. And then there was the whole crazy ass WR coach who may or may not have been in a mutually abusive relationship with his wife/ex wife.. but hey 7-0 vs scUM

so… Those guys .. fast starts … crash and burn finishes… Day should have played LSU in ‘19 for the title and I think we had a good chance to beat them… much like the 05/06 teams the ‘19/‘20 teams the wrong team went to the title.

Day … kinda fast start already with 2 playoffs and a natty appearance - hey it wasn’t great but we weren’t great either….
We will find out in about a 3 months if Day wants to go to the NFL and if he doesn’t we’ll know in about 10 months if he’s got the stomach to be great.

also if they had played last year … and Day was 2-1 vs scUM … would you still be as phillyesk as you are currently being?
I think fast start is a common element among most top shelf coaches so Day having a so-so start is a concern. Yes.

If he was 2-1 I’d feel a little better yeah, but he isn’t and that makes next year make or break.

You put the losses he’s had with the shit we see from the team making videos of stomping on jerseys and then all the excuse making from Stroud and now a recruit running his mouth about The Game and there seems to be a significant change in team culture.

We don’t know for sure and I hope to god it’s all much ado about nothing but we won’t know for sure till he wipes that stain off our souls next November. If he doesn’t, then it’s likely USC ‘08. That moment you knew the coach wasn’t the right guy.

Damn people continuing to lose their minds in here. Y’all would’ve wanted Saban canned his first four years for going 2-2 against Barn, NC be damned. OSU’s dominance over SCUM is an anomaly and is actually insane when you think about it. Who has gone 17-3 over a 20 year period against their chief rival like OSU has?
Not the greatest coach in history, who you just mentioned. He's 9-5.

The last two losses came vs 4-loss Barn (the 4th to boat rowers) and 3 loss Barn, that couldn't keep the Georgia tradition alive or beat UCF.

Counterpoint; Earl was 5-4 in The Game and had the best conference win % of any B1G coach during his 9 years iirc and no one was arguing that he had to go. They just weren't happy with the way it was done.

Point being, beating up on the B1G and even head above water in The Game isn't enough.
Edit: sorry, I misread your post I guess

Day is not 17 and 3 against scUM he’s 1 and 1 so if he stays the twenty years he will be 10 and 10. Surely won’t get him year 21.

I’m saying lol. Was a RB going out of bounds away from going 8-6. Against a .500 Barn team too. 17-3 against a program like SCUM is “You sold your soul to the Devil” type shit knowing the history of the rivalry and heated rivalries in general.
They sell their souls for 2-10-1? I never ascribed it to the metaphysical, just a coach that didn’t get it.

As far as Saban’s Iron Bowl record goes, the fact his NC’s cover that up shows why The Game is the greatest rivalry in sports.

So…are you an NC every year or fail guy? Or was it the one loss to dUMb? Something else with the direction of the program? I can’t tell why you think Day is on the brink here.

Direction of program and The Game or bust.

I don’t give a fuck about NC’s and to clarify, I think Day is on the brink next November. Not now. He wins then, as he goddamned well better, and all is well (until ‘23).

Lived through Cooper and Earl. Don’t have time in the second half of life for their fucking love child. Hopefully Day proves he isn’t that but I have my doubts as of now.

Yes back-to-back near decade long win streaks in a rivalry is “Made a pact with Lucifer” shit. Even Cooper got it enough to win The Game once every five years.

As to your second point, lol come on man. If OSU was winning NCs every other year the fan base would be okay with a few more SCUM losses. Bama fans poison flora down there to show their hatred of Auburn so I highly doubt they’re less passionate about hating Barn than we are of SCUM.

Just so we're clear on this rage math, is Jim skipping 50% of the games where he has a mediocre team? Is it snowing and at home 100% of the time he has a good one?

Is he still only winning against Sparty when they're horrendous? Six, Seven and Nine loss sparty are the only times he was the big brother.

Is he still losing 80% of his bowl games at michigan? It's been 4 in a row, the last 3 vs the SEC.

That 4 has a big asterisk, since losing 75% of their games (that they chose to play) left them out of one last year.
