they didn't say, but it wouldnt shock me if it was.

ESPN did a story on this...USC uses Fred Davis to simulate the "running" Vince Young, and Mark Sanchez to simulate the "passing" Vince Young

Of course, they might be in shock once they realize that VY doesn't actually morph into a different race depending on the play call (it's the one thing he can't do ), so defense might be a bit harder...

yup, our game is going to be interesting again next year. We will return our stable of runningbacks, however, we will most likely lose VY, our Recievers will be more experienced, but line might be depleated some. Oh, and thank the fahqing lord that you won't have hawk and company next year. im sure the replacements will be very good.....but i'll take my chances

Well, our replacements wouldn't be third string at SC, but they're .. umm.. capable... I guess. :p

NTD - I don't know about you, but I think it might be even more shocking for them when it's clear VY does both.

I can see it now... "Hey, what's he doing throwing? I thought this was a running play!!!! Man, this was easier in practice when we knew what was coming."

I think the most shocking thing will be when they realize that the little flick thing he does with the ball is actually a pretty accurate way for him to pass :)

And this comes from someone who was definitely shocked by this in the OSU game...his passing was about 50x better than I expected, it looks like crap on film, but it sure does work

Yeah, of course they count, because that's from the pre-BCS era. :roll2: After the AP joined the BCS system (and even after they left "on principle") theirs became a second-rate NC. It's not a "national title", it's an "AP national title".

Cinci is BY FAR not the only non-Louisianan who still remembers USC did not win the BCS championship in 2004.

But as for this thread, Go Horns!

It drives me crazy also when the media states '3 pete' and don't give any mention to LSU.
The BCS was to eliminate each poll or group choosing their own NC.
So now the AP (or any other group )can just chose their own regardless?

Also, I can't stand the USCum hype either but I won't let the media sway my opinion. This is the same thing they did to OSU and we don't like it.
Don't let the ESPiN's of the world sway you.

I on the other hand I am backing the Horns. I like their type of play. They beat us so I want them to win and also so next year is even bigger.
They have a great tradition and fan base just like the bucks. I was floored with the following they had in Cbus. I don't remember a team having that good of a following.

Ntd - right you are... he holds the ball out there and I thought he should have had about 4 fumbles against OSU... He just flicks the ball as you say, and if I'm a DB I see opportunity...

He's surely not the greatest QB of all time, can do no wrong... but, with the exception of Troy Smith, I sure wouldn't mind him pulling the trigger on my team.

he should fumble more, but at his height that delivery is not altogether that low.

about the usc hype going away, they will just have to rewrite their worship songs. OU got exposed in 03, but it didn't stop them from getting tons of love from the media in 04, en route to ruining the second straight BCS matchup.

I'm going to make a common opponent comparison which may mean jack shit, but I'll do it anyways.

We played both Texas and Notre Dame (as will have USC).

  • Texas scored 23 offensive points and gained 382 yards on our field
  • Notre Dame scored 20 offensive points and gained 348 yards on a neutral field

So, Texas was 3 points and 34 yards better in a more hostile environment. Since Notre Dame put up 31 points and 417 yards on USC at Notre Dame, I don't see why Texas can't match that (note I'm not giving Texas 3 extra points and 34 more yards, seeing as the game is on a techincally neutral field). If Texas scores 31, I think they'll have a very good chance at winning.
