I wouldn't go so far as to say the 2005 Texas defense isn't in the same ballpark as our 2002 defense. If there's a big difference between the 2002 Ohio State and 2005 Texas teams, it's on offense. Texas' 2005 offense is light years ahead of our 2002 offense (especially the second half of 2002). In fact, if you take away our 34-3 win against Minnesota in the 10th game of 2002, Texas scored nine fewer points against Colorado alone than we did in the entire last half of our 2002 regular season.

Also,I love all this talk about USC winning what could be thier third traight NC.

Technically,it would be thier second straight since the conferances and schools chose to recognise whoever won the BCS National Championship Game as the Champions,not who won the AP or Coach's Poll Championships.So technically...USC is going for thier second straight...LSU were the only RECOGNIZED Champions in 03/04.

I asked this question before...since ESPN has pretty much drawn the conclusion that these condoms are the greatest football(or soccer) team to ever grace Gods green earth, if the Horns win....are they the greatest ever?

Im on the other side of the fence from all of you guys, I guess because I live in Texas and all I hear from Texas fans is how they destroyed us, whooped us, dismantled us....pfft, you didnt dismantle anything, you won the game, thats it, that game coulda gone either way very easily. Then add on to the fact that after the game the Texas fans at the restraunt where I was watching the game started chanting F*** Ohio State, and yeah, I want Texas to get "dismantled".

I'm about as excited as I can be for a college football game that doesn't involve the Buckeyes. The Texas front four really needs to get after Leinart, much the same way ours did against Dorsey in the Fiesta Bowl in '03. Bush will get his but if USC is able to run and pass successfully it will be a long night for the Horns. Texas has seen a better defense than USC's(Think Horseshoe). USC has not seen a better defense than the Horns this year.

Don't think I wouldn't get to this, BKB. I'm still catching up on stuff that I missed while in Arizona last week.

USC's first since '78 (you're obviously omitting the '03 AP vote).

Texas won the UPI NC in 1970 since the coaches didn't vote after Bowl games then. (Too bad they switched this before 1975 :tongue2: ).

And LSU's was in 1958.
