Offering and receiving commitments from are entirely different. GT isn't the first to throw out offers to multiple Tarblooders.

True, I belive Illinois has already offered the entire team and a few water boys and cheerleaders

They are trying to get that pipeline going, I'm not sure what Overton would play though, He is more like a 1-AA player IMO, but Worley would be good, and Lattimore would take that offense to another level

Considering that the 2014 class looks to be a pretty small class with a ton of top talent from all over the country looking to get in, Marcelys and hopefully Lattimore might both be wise to break from the old Glenville tradition of announcing late.

I'm sure coach Meyer and staff will have room for them, regardless of when they commit. I think glenville players have earned a special place over the years with osu

Yeah, no.

That "I'm special I'm from Glenville" attitude has caused a huge number of those Glenville kids to flame out big time in Columbus. Let's not propagate that garbage here please.

I haven't seen any "I'm special" attitude from from tarblooders. I suppose we shouldn't ever go to Florida for a wr since we've been shutout since 2002?

Some glenville kids struggle because poor black kids are failed by the CPS system (see Reggie smith and Tyrone Williams from shaw), not because they have an uppity attitude.

Not that I agree with you at all, but the whole point of my post was that it was refreshing that a guy who is getting all this national attention and comes from Glenville where they have traditionally waited till late in the year to commit, was looking to wrap things up before the start of his senior year.

Either way, it's his(and every kids) right to take as long as they need to make such an important decision about their future.

I have no idea what you are talking about or what that has to do with anything.

Race and socioeconomic background has nothing to with it.

Coming in feeling like an institution owes you something before you even step foot on campus is not a healthy attitude and only leads to problems.

Saying things like this doesn't help with those problems.

The Glenville kids can take as little or as long as they want to make a decision. That is not the issue.

What is the issue is feeding into the idea that Glenville kids should be treated special just for being from Glenville.

They have to earn everything they get just like every other high school football player that goes to OSU.

Ok, so you gave one example of a kid from glenville, yet there are many more that have worked out in our favor and helped our football team tremendously. I'm sorry, but pipeline school's for every college are treated a little different. A school that usually produces top flight athletes that like coming to osu works in our favor. That's why pipelines are very important to keep. I don't know what garbage you think I'm speaking of, but you're foolish if you don't think tressell and now urban Meyer won't treat Glenville slightly a little more special than a school anywhere else

That seems like a pretty foolish thing to say. Coach Meyer recruits the best players for our program. I think we've already seen him do things differently than Coach Tressel and it would seem more like Coach Meyer to take the better kid for the program over a kid who happens to be from Glenville. It's not like JT never did that either... And 86 is right, that pipeline that you speak of hasn't exactly been as fruitful as you make it seem. We got Teddy, Troy, and Donte, but we also got Ray, Rob Rose, and a handful of other kids who did more harm than good here.
