Just got back from Columbus. Man, what a tough loss to swallow. My throat is hoarse, and my feet hurt from walking around all day and standing up for the entire game.
That was the most amazing game I have ever witnessed, even though we lost it. The crowd was so loud that I could not hear myself think. Texas fans are as crazy as we are about their football and represent. Texas students and fans were everywhere on campus the night before the game. Very impressive, and I hate to say it, pretty intimidating.
Sure, I was depressed when the loss became apparent, but singing Carmen Ohio after the game does wonders to make you feel better. After mulling over the game for almost a day, I can't be dissapointed with our Buckeyes. It was the second game of the season, and we played the #2 team in the nation. A loss was a very realistic possibility (even though I wasn't ready to admit it last week). I don't think anyone would have seen us losing the way we did, but I am by no means dissapointed with our teams performance. We gave the world an amazing, heart-stopping, game for the ages. It was anyones to lose with 5 minutes to go in the 4th Quarter.
Both teams are now 10 times better having played this game, and it gives me tremendous hope for the future. Lessons will be learned, adjustments will be made, and we will become a better team because of it.
My seats were ridiculous (13AA row 5), so I'll be posting up some (hopefully) awesome pictures of the game.
Five things were made very apparent to me:
1) A.J. Hawk blew my mind
2) Holmes is the best WR in the nation
3) I am now a Vince Young fan. The man's got guts, and his athletic talent is out of this world.
4) Our defense is INCREDIBLE and the Big 10 is in for some shit (Sure we lost, but we did *that* to Texas!)
5) Ohio State fans can sometimes be too crazy for their own good. Take a deep breath, step back from the ledge, and just remember we can't blow out every team and win an NC every year.
