That is one of the dumbest posts I have ever seen. Were you calling for Zwick to transfer when he played the bowl game with a bad hammie? I'm not even going to get into the rest of it. Go ahead and miss a few meals so you are too weak to post.

Oh, try a paragraph break and spelling while you are at it. Idiot!

Edit: I wish posters like this would just stay at Bucknuts.

Ohio State fans can sometimes be too crazy for their own good. Take a deep breath, step back from the ledge, and just remember we can't blow out every team and win an NC every year.
After ~450 some-odd pages, this is probably the best statement in the thread, and the only one I can say isn't founded on hype or hyperbole. Every teams' fans are loyal to a fault, and every elite teams' fans expect a national championship and unbeaten season, and that just doesn't happen. The nature of CFB dictates that 118 teams' fans are going to be disappointed.

As we saw in 2002, you need an unbelievable combination of talent, playmaking and a little luck to go undefeated.

Neither team left anything on the field, and the Bucks have not eliminated themselves from National Championship contention. The simple fact of the matter is that the Bucks get a shot at a BCS game by winning the Big-10, and I honestly cannot see any team in the conference hanging with OSU this year. The Bucks are clearly one of the best teams in the country, even with a loss, and -- to steal a phrase from Lee Corso -- will be sneaking around the chicken coop all season long looking to be the biggest beneficiaries of any other team losing.

The outcome of the game is painful knowing the missed opportunities to take a 9 or even 13 point lead, but there isn't any shame in losing to one of the best teams in the country.

Damn...great game...no voice left...woke up at 1:17 P.M. today...I tried to stand the whole game but some jackasses behind me (sitting in 12 C row 1, if the jackasses are out there annouce yourselves so I can give you some nice red chicklets) wanted me to SIT DOWN DURING THE GAME. IT'S THE BEST NONCONFERENCE GAME OF THE SEASON AND THEY EXPECT ME TO SIT?????? They kept saying that we were the reason that everyone had to stand. I pointed behind us at the people in the next row... They were standing...the people in the first row weren't. Is it those peoples faults that the people behind them where standing? Goddamn if you dont want to stand go home and watch the game on T.V.!!!!
umm... i stood the whole game, and i was at my house... :p

Just got back from the game guys..All I have to say is WOW. The crowd, the atmoshpere everything was just unbelievable. No doubt thats the loudest stadium in america IMO. By the way I did lose my voice (at the skull session).

As for the game. Hey my hats off to Texas their Defense did a fine job of hiding coverages and they did what they needed to do on offense. What bothers me about OSU is our offense after we had tremendous field position all day. I mean we get inside the 20 and we don't run the ball? Pittman ran really well last night and all the sudden we don't go to him near the goal line? come on thats just dumb

Also what bout Snittinker (spelling) he didn't get one carry I believe? come on he's 240 pounds. What just gets me pissed off is Ginn only getting THREE touches.... THREE. When you want to win big ball games your playmakers have to step up and the coaches didn't give teddy that chance. I for one think we need an offensive coordinator. Here's why I say that. Sure we won big against a bad defense like michigan and a decent defense of Oklahoma State, but if we want to beat the big teams we need to score touchdowns not field goals. I think we had poor play calling, and it was far to conservative. Just image if the buckeyes put 2 or 3 of those field goals in the endzone for 7..... Then all the sudden its 31-10 in the 3rd quarter and the game is just about over.

Also another thing I noticed is this. OSU went deep ONE TIME and scored ONE TIME. So if my college statistics class is serving me correctly that gives us a pretty good play/touchdown ratio. Again Dumb play calling and just not realizing what our strenghts really are were obvious last night.

Do I believe OSU should've won the game? yeah I think, but we didn't and again my hats off to texas for playing a great game.

As for our defense they played great besides giving up the big play. I don't know how many plays Texas had for over 30 yards. They cannot do that against a team like texas and ultimatly it led to us losing the game. For sure when your offense doesn't score touchdowns when you force turnovers I'm sure the defense was saying to itself "what do we have to do". I thought they played the run great but man we just let recievers get behind us.

Overall this was a great game but man does this sting. Oh yeah Buckeyes by 10 next year in Austin!!

Flat out you should had told them - "Fuck you. Go to Ann Arbor if you wanna sit down."

Not to get too offtrack, but did anyone hear about Michigans stadium policy this year? lol. The Michigan alumni issued a notice to all ticket holders instructing them to stay seated during the game so that everyone can have an enjoyable experience. They said that if you dont comply with the rule that you can be kicked out.

LOL. Just another example of how quality (Shoe) is better than quantity (BigHouse).

Sorry to bring this thing back to the top, but I don't know where else this post would fit.

Instant classic. ESPN classic should be showing this game by Tuesday this week. And I'm disappointed NCAA 2006 got rid of the College Classics option. If they bring it back for NCAA 2007, this game will surely be the latest addition.

Furthermore, if you told me before the game that UT would
-turn the ball over 3 times
-only rush the ball for 115 yards (I can't fathom this team not running for 200+, at least before last night)
-have problems again with kick coverage (or have trouble containing Ginn and Holmes depending on your point of view)
-have trouble getting David Thomas involved on offense
-have horrible starting field position

I would have given us a 0% chance to win the game. Why? Because based on the first 3000 posts on this thread, that was tOSU's gameplan, and the above is evidence it was executed well. But I guess that's why I love college football. Crazy shit happens.

This would be blasphemy on the UT boards, but Hawk is a better linebacker than Derrick Johnson. Jesus tapdancin' Christ. I can't remember ever seeing a performance like that. His line was something like 12 tackles, 2 sacks, 1FF, 1 FR, 1 int. Those are video game numbers. Amazing. And Carpenter would be the best linebacker on the 118 other D1 teams easily.

Ohio State can (and probably will) win out. I sincerely hope they do.

:oh: :io: <---------at least until this time next year.

well i just got home..lemme first start off by saying this has been one of the best weekends ive had..all the people i met and the atmosphere of everything was just insane..i still have no voice what so ever..my feet and back hurt from walking..

i dont know if ive ever felt like this after a football game..i just was in shock last nite after the game..i couldnt believe it..i really thought we had them beat man..AHHHHH it was so close..but one hell of a game..

and as far as the texas fans, they can feel free to eat my ass..i got so many rude comments from the last nite on high street that it wasnt even right..so many of them were stopping in front of me and pointing and laughing, and saying how much we sucked and how overrated we were..just goin on and on!!! couldnt believe it...so im sure that most of the texas fans arent like this, but im pretty fired up at the state of texas..like the saying goes, it only takes a few rotten eggs to ruin the dozen..well thats how i feel right now..

Horn - good analysis and job putting this thing back to the top man ...
And congratulations on your win. Now go get behind your Horns to go all the way!!
I think this match-up may end up like the OK vs OSU games where OSU lost at home, despite a great comeback -- then later went to Norman and took down a good Switzer coached team. So see y'all in Austin, payback I believe will be on the Buckeyes minds.

Oh - yes and xrayrandy loses the spread prediction  Though that is cooold comfort after last night.

cant wait for next year.

Me neither. As a preview I'll give you a rundown on changes you can expect at UT for next year. We probably lose 3 starters on offense and 4 on Defense.

Offense
Starters Lost: Jonathan Scott LT, Will Allen RG, David Thomas TE - Other part time starters: Brian Carter Fl, Ahmard Hall FB (Not a true starting position for us)

Scott will be replaced by Tony Hills who is just as good and played most of our game last night due to an injury to Scott. Will Allen will likely be replaced by either Kyle Thornton or Cedric Dockery both with NFL pedigrees. David Thomas will be replaced by Jermichael Finley a young pass catching phenom. Carter will likely be replaced by Shipley by mid season, and Hall will likely be replaced by Houston or Myers who are still learning the spot this year but should do fine.

Notes: Most of us expect Jamaal Charles will start the remainder of the season in place of Selvin Young. Vince Young and Justin Blalock have experessed some interest in coming out early, but their parents want them to get a degree and Mack has not lost one yet, so I expect them back. If either do come out early it will create a big hole.

Defense
Starters Lost: Rod Wright, Aaron Harris, Michael Huff, Cedric Griffin plus key backup Larry Dibbles

Wright will likely be replaced by Roy Miller who is being compared to Casey Hampton by our coaches. Dibbles role will be taken by Derek Lokey. Bobino likely slides over to MLB while Killebrew moves to WLB and both will be very experienced after this year. Cedric Griffin will be replaced by Tarel Brown who started last year, so along with Ross we effectively will have 2 returning starters at corner and I believe both are better than Cedric. Huff will likely be replaced by either Marcus Griiffin (a great tackler like his brother Michael our FS) or Bobby Tatum (Jack's nephew), so they they will be talented although somewhat inexperienced.

Special Teams
Starters Lost: Pino K, McGee P/KO

Kicking duties will likely be taken over by true freshman Hunter Lawrence who is considered one of the top kickers in high school this season. We are hopeful that this will be an upgrade, but having a freshman can there is always a little scary (although I can't imagine it being worse than it is now). Punting duties will likely fall to Greg Johnson who was a freshman All-American at Vandy and about even with McGee during fall practices, so there is no loss there.

The biggest possible downgrades are at guard, safety (and nickel back), and maybe kicker. The other positions should equal or better based on having another years experience. We are worried that we will have to replace our defensive coordinator again, or have our Co-DC Akina take the job over by himself.

The bottom line is that next years team will be quite a bit better than this years provided that Vince returns for his senior year.

On a side Note:

I wanna give a nice big FUCK YOU to ESPN exceutives, Nick Lachey, Desmond Howard and whatever mindless idiot allowed the washed up pretty boy and his token sidekick to sing "Hail to the Victors" atop our sacred Ohio Stadium. That was just rediculous.

A couple more notes I meant to say earlier:

I hope Texas wins out. And they should. No one can say they aren't road tested and ready for anything now.

I met a lot of Texas fans yesterday while working the lot. All them an absolute class act. Some them were absolutely mesmerized by the atmosphere on campus.

Some numbers and info from the lot:

I arrived at the lot at precisely 4:00am

The first RV in line arrived to our lot at 2:00ama nd was soon joined by 6 more RV's by 2:20

There was a line of RV's on Fred Taylor Drive that streched from the south end of the Jesse, up to Ackerman Road, and then west on Ackerman under the 315 overpass. 120+ vehicles. That's when I stopped counting.

By 7:00am, the lot was almost half full.

at 2:00pm, the lot was full.

I saw 12 RV's flying the Burnt Orange. Impressive. scUM didn't have that many last year.

Sears throws a nice tailgate if anyone ever finds their way over.

I saw 1 Buckeyeplanet.com shirt other than Sears. I didn't catch up to them to see who it was.

I met Alan.

OSU changed the rules on vans and SUV's this week without telling the season pass holders. This resulted in me being cussed out no less than 7 times during the day. Once by a woman who was so irate and verbally abusive, that one the Deputies working with me threatened to let her cool off in lock up until after the game. She cussed at him and then left a layer of rubber on the street in retreat. :slappy:

Met one guy who was friends with one of our Texas posters on the 'Planet. He mentioned the site but wasn't sure of his buddy's screenname. He was a great guy and was really enjoying the experience.

The bomb squad went through the lot thress times.

The booze patrol was less of a force than I expected.

Boobies were everywhere

I turned down three offers for blowjobs for a parking space

Can't wait for the return game in Austin. Games like this are what college football is all about.
