This is the part of "Saw Varsity's Horns Off"

I think you know who it's referring to.......

Everyone in the stadium sways side to side....it actually moves the stadium.......and if you look up and over to the other side you sometimes get dizzy from looking.

Are you fricking kidding me......

Hamby catch the fricking ball.

Don't take a negative yardage sack when three points is truly a back-breaker!

Please current Buckeye players plays as hard when JZ is in the game as you do when TS is in, this baffles me to the fricking rafters.

More Pittman please.

Play calling in the red or maybe dead zone, room for improvement fo sure... Arrrrrrrrghhh!!!!

I really hate to bitch about Refs but seriously c'mon!!!!

hats off to:

1, Texas and their fans.
2. Troy Smith for rallying us.
3. A.J. you are special.
4. Pittman, could of seen more of you for sure.
5. Holmes great game!!!
6. Our school and fans for being classy and loud.
7 Josh kicking through the uprights all night.

I'm going to finish my 100th JD and coke and curl up in a ball and replay what fricking should have been...

Much love too all the members of the Planet....

I've already shown my way out....

Not to be negative, but I don't know how Tressel will get out of this one, either. A whole lot of people are rabidly on one side or the other (mostly one side, I think, but I could be wrong). This reminds me of another situation I'd rather not remember because of how ugly it got...
JT will get, and certainly deserves, some blame. His play calling put no pressure on the UT defense, especially in and near the red zone.

This game promises to be one of the greatest game play this year.

2006, will be even bigger!

The countdown begins, and now that we've got one under our belt, lets see if nexts game is anything like this years. I posted this in the wrong thread, so sorry for making this post again. but, seriously want to welcome ya'll to my home...Texas, even though I'm not in Texas.

Sorry for the re-post.

Howdy!

firstly, I want to say that this is one of the best games I've ever seen! Two giants on the field together, this is what football is about.

I live in Japan, so we dont get to watch much football here! And when we do, its all the west coast or east coast teams, or for some damn reason the most over-rated QB of all time Vick and his birds.

Y'alls defense is something special, and it wouldn't surprise me if me meet again at the Rose Bowl.

I've been reading this board for a while now, and I want to give y'all a BZ, for how hospitable, warm and enviting the members of this board have been. For those of you who doing know what a BZ is, it means "Bravo Zulu"
Navy term for job well done. This forum is on spot!

I'm sure next years game will be even bigger than tonights, and when y'all get down to Austin, which y'all will love! Make sure to head to Schultz's beer garden, and stop be the County Line for some BBQ. Check out 6th street, try not to get too trashed! Cast some shade while your looking at the 50,000 sexy female co-eds. Hit up Trudy's North Star for some seriously good hot sauce, and finally.... when all is sad and done, dispite who wins, enjoy the tried and true, one - of - a - kind TEXAS HOSPITALITY.

From one Texan to the folks on this forum, let me officially welcome to the state of TEXAS. May the Eyes of Texas Look Upon You.

Good game.

!!CORPSMAN UP!!

Congrats on getting it done. It is a shame someone had to lose that game. Hopefully we can meet again in Pasadena.

I sure hope not, because as you stated neither stood above the other. If anything, I think their performances tonight make it more difficult for the coaches. What I take away from the game tonight is that Zwick has improved from last year and Smith is not Superman.
I keep going back to Bill Parcells ... if you say you've got two QBs, what that really means is you don't have one.

You cannot swap QBs series after series ... plain and simple. I don't care which is the QB, as long as one of them is declared the QB. Get it over with ... I can't survive another year of Stanley Jackson/Joe Germaine. Texas fans could probably sympathize with after suffering Major Applewhite/Chris Simms.

Seriously ... I don't give a fuck ... just pick one for Christ's sake!!!!!

three things

1. Hambys dropped ball in endzone.
2. missed safety oppurtunity in endzone (returns the ball to 35 yard line instead)
3. not capitalizing on great field position.

man this hurts so much. but i swear if oklahoma beats texas, i will be so happy. too bad LSU couldnt have lost tonight that would have helped. alot.

We didn't make plays. I know in college football you don't want to blame the kids. Instead you want to blame the coaches, the referees, the playcalling, etc. It comes down to the fact that we never made plays. We had chance after chance to put this one away and we didn't do it, they finally did.

execution is a big part of it. but id seriously question the wisdom of anyone who truthfully thinks we put our guys in the best position offensively to win tonight. imo offensively we played to not loose.

Now with that is said, and not forgeting for a moment that all of that is true, I was shocked that we did not pick a QB and go with them.

yeah, that kinda bothered me a little as well. i can see why the coaching staff did it though. neither guy was able to win or loose the job tonight. so while i will never agree with a split qb system, i do understand the why.

I don't think Smith was able to throw the ball as much as he should have, but he made some poor decesions on passing plays that I am sure the offensive coaches didn't like.

smith was rusty and made a lot of mental errors. pretty much what you would expect of a guy in his first start of the year. him sitting out against miami (oh) really showed tonight i think. i do find it very curious that we made no attempt what so ever to play the high percentage passing game at all tonight. expecially with smith in the game to get his confidence up and game reps.

Zwick made the play that sealed it for them and in my opinion didn't play a good game.

i think he did pretty good. i think id have a hard time choosing who was the better qb after tonight. if i had to choose, id go with smith but for no other reason than this was his first game of the year. therefor i expect the errors he committed and am slightly more inclined to forgive them.

I don't know who you choose but I do wonder if that might have helped play a role in the inability to punch the ball in? Maybe they were playing too cautiously, or maybe they were trying too hard to make plays.

imo a combination of both. our guys made a ton of mental mistakes tonight. but im still beside myself on the play calling. im going to need to go back and rewatch the game but... for us to go from the spread against miami that was so effective to the power eye... wow..

Once again, we had plenty of chances to win this game, we did not make the plays to win it, plain and simple.

yep.

alright, im out for the night(again).

once again sorry for posting with my emotions, not my mind.

congrats to texas, im going to be honest and say that i think ohio state shouldve won the game, but they didnt and texas definantly earned it nonetheless.

our defense looked great if you asked me, our d-line did great against the best o-line in the nation, our linebackers were amazing, and our secondary was solid, everett needs some work though.

before this game, i could care less how vince young did for the rest of the season, but after watching him play tonight, i have tons of respect for the man, and will be rooting for him the rest of his career(college and pro). he got hit probably 30 times tonight, and he still stayed in the game. after the game, i have tons of respect for the longhorns, and their fans, instead of coming over here jeering and bragging, everyone has been repectful, moreso than i have.
