I will be interested to read the comments of the members who made it to the game. Not only the noise, but how things looked from the stands when you can see the whole field of play.

edit: crzy - nice timing with posting thoughts from the Shoe while I was writing mine.

I don't think the Texas people will think it's like playing at Arkansas anymore, like a few had said it was on the other forum. I wasn't there, but the atmosphere looked electric.

Josh did a very good job but when he missed that 50 yarder I knew we were going to lose. Nuge would have made that one and we would have won.
No kicker can be counted upon to make 50-yarders consistently; any team that relies on 50-yard FG's to win games will lose quite a few.

Hey, you feel that burning sensastion in your stomach? Want to change QB's or fire the coach every other possesion? That's what happens when you play a team with talent equal to ours. Fucking deal with it, there's 8 big ten games and SDSU left on the schedule, we ain't done yet. Hats off to Texas, they got it done tonight.

And to anybody questioning Tressle, remember 2002. I'm not going to round up the lynch mob and go after our coach because of one game. Fuck that. :osu: We'll regroup, move on, and be a better football team after testing ourselves against an opponent of this caliber in September. If nobody else has the balls to schedule non-conference opponenents who are capable of beating them, shame on the them.:oh: :io:

Damn right. Green for you.

We didn't make plays. I know in college football you don't want to blame the kids. Instead you want to blame the coaches, the referees, the playcalling, etc. It comes down to the fact that we never made plays. We had chance after chance to put this one away and we didn't do it, they finally did.

Now with that is said, and not forgeting for a moment that all of that is true, I was shocked that we did not pick a QB and go with them. I think going into the rest of the season we need to make a decesion and stick with him. I don't think Smith was able to throw the ball as much as he should have, but he made some poor decesions on passing plays that I am sure the offensive coaches didn't like. Zwick made the play that sealed it for them and in my opinion didn't play a good game. I don't know who you choose but I do wonder if that might have helped play a role in the inability to punch the ball in? Maybe they were playing too cautiously, or maybe they were trying too hard to make plays.

Once again, we had plenty of chances to win this game, we did not make the plays to win it, plain and simple.

Congrats to Texas ... they pulled out the win. I'm heartbroken, both with Huston's miss of the 50-yarder, and Hamby's bobble in the endzone ... either play wins the game. But kudos to Texas for tightening down their chin straps and getting it done. Good luck the rest of the season, y'all wrestled away the victory tonight. Congrats Texas, and thanks to all the gracious Longhorn fans that have posted on this board over the last nine months. We'll see you all again in Pasadena.

"young sucks"

You're kidding right?

Man, he was tossed fast. I tried to quote him but his post was gone. Well, at least I gave him some red rubies for his wonderful post.

Young proved tonight he is a talent, both with his legs and his arm. His heart sure is there to after the beating he took.

Actually...Kyle Field at Texas A&M is alot louder...and for the whole game.

Were you there?

It's not even so much disrupting the other team, either, though the noise can do that, as it is our D feeding off the energy, too. It's hard to argue they didn't do that tonight, considering.

great game by two great defenses

i agree that tOSU's inefficiency in the RZ can be looked at two ways, and it's probably a mix of bad play calling and good texas defense.

i was wondering all game why ginn wasn't getting the ball. (not complaining, mind you --- after all, he's been giving me nightmares for weeks now)

fun game to watch.
