I think the most talented team won, no doubt.

at what point beyond the first quarter was our wr's pitted against texas' db's? hard to claim the more "talented" team won when one team completely ignores its biggest advantage. now, if you want to say the "best" team won today, i would 100% agree with you and have already said exactly that. however, there is a very big difference between saying the "more talented team" and the "better team".

however, even though I am not a fan of two QB offences, overall I wouldn't agree about the out coaching comment at all.

texas shows up in the shoe. they show up hot and fireing on all cylinders. very few mental mistakes period, let alone early. how many dropped passes did we have again? expecially early? when texas went up by 10, did they abandon their offense? nope. and yet when we went up by 3 flippin points we completely turned our back on ours. what happened to gonzo??? how many quick hits to ginn did we throw? it was there throughout the first half. wtf are we doing in the flippin power eye with a obviously hurting tb against the best d line in college football??? we are a spread offense team! not a power eye team!!! and yet we played as much power eye as anything tonight.

I choose Smith as QB right now. I do realize that were all down because of the loss so fingers will and should be pointed.

you want smith to be the qb? i have absolutely 0 problem with that. but the facts are pretty simple, the qb wasn't the problem tonight. don't matter which guy starts or even if one guy got the nod the whole game. you can say we should have executed better on O. *shrug* you'd be right, but can you honestly say that our coaching staff put our offense in the best possible position for them to win?

Great game Buckeyes

I must say that I haven't sweated this hard since the Rose Bowl, you guys played a great game , and i thought UT would lose after the 3rd quarter. This is a game that both teams should have won, but only one could win. I think you guys would have won if Troy Smith was put in on the drive where Zwick fumbles. Hawk, Carpenter did a great job containing Vince Young. Anyways, great game guys, I will root for you guys in the rest of your games, and I can't wait until next year, when we meet in Austin. I am glad we had the honor to play The Ohio State Univeristy in the 'Shoe.
Good Luck with the rest of your season.

What do you guys think of Vince Young now? He a Heisman Trophy Candidate?

I think he was a number 5 on the list before the game and has definitely solidified staying in the chase. As much it pained me to watch him, he is much more than a running QB. He has a very strong arm and has touch.

He probably has a good chance at the Heisman if Bush and Leinart split votes.

I am heartbroken, but so glad we played this game. The electricity was amazing. I haven't felt that way watching a game since the 2002 NC game. Congratulations to Texas. I wish the outcome had been different, but it was to be their night tonight. This game was great for Texas, the Buckeyes, and all of College Football. We are going to be fine.

I have to say I am much more impressed with Mack Brown after tonight. I thought he set a great mindset/tone at the beginning when he was asked about the atmosphere, and he said "We're impressed, but we've played at nice places before". He also kept good control of the emotions of his team.

i'll tell you right now if it wasn't for huston we wouldn't have even been in it, he had 16 of our 22 points(5 of 6 on field goals, 1 extra point)
We have a kicker!! Now we must develop a QB..to many passes batted down...QB's and receivers need to get on the same page...Pitman looked strong and the OL is improving

He's gonna have to improve on that 1:1 INT:TD ratio if he's gonna impress the media enough to win it.

I'll tell you one thing, the Buckeye Nation sure as hell hopes he wins it...it's very important to us that Archie remain the only 2 time heisman winner.

It makes absolutely perfect sense. Look at the entire game. Zwick was the better passer tonight, and he didn't commit boneheaded errors like Smith did.

Look at that fumble - yeah, it sure did suck - but Zwick did everything right. It was a FORCED ERROR. It's a shame and it sucks for us, but that's life.

Blaming Tressel for this is just as stupid for blaming Grady Little for not pulling Pedro. People are gonna do it anyway though.

If anything, blame the WRs for not getting open, and credit the Texas secondary for playing OUT OF THEIR MINDS tonight. If Zwick had a viable option to throw to on that play, he puts it on the money and they move the chains.

What's to say that Smith wouldn't have come in there and thrown it right into the arms of a Texas defender (like he did a handful of other times during the game?)

EDIT: I understand trying to keep things clean around here but are we gonna tack all the post-game discussion on this thread too? There are about fifteen different conversations going on in here right now.
each did that once (throw to the defender)

Zwick's just got knocked into Pittmans hands.

Smith might have done it twice.

I hate the spread . Really though, there's times when it's good, but times when I just wish we would stop being cute with this dink-n-dump (and how many QB draws were there, got away from our game I think) and just run the ball, play action, take shots deep with our weapons.

i dont think the 2002 defense was that much better than tonights, if at all. after the first couple of series our defense played amazing, our d-line played amazing against the best o-line in college football, our linebackers played possessed tonight, everett needs to improve though.
