Those pictures were very welcomed after reading so many numbers. I am more of a visual fan. I am pretty sure that every angle has been compared from x's and o's but the biggest factor still is coming into the Horshoe for the first time at night.

Thats good to hear. Win or lose I would hate to see an astrerisk placed beside the final box score of this one
Good point. You always want the results to be based on what happens on the field, and not have people saying, "Yeah, but our best offensive player or defensive player or whatever was out because of some stupid rule or injury." But at the same time, if the situation was reversed, I think I'd prefer to win the game with an asterisk than lose it without the asterisk.

In another thread someone was talking about you open corner position and it got me thinking about WR-CB matchups. Does Youboty play left or right corner? Sweed, our 6-5 225 receiver normally lines up on the left side of the offense, although the WRs swap sides some. This puts Jones/Shipley/Pittman on the other side.

Okay, I'm getting waaaaaaaaay ahead of things here, so please excuse me.

When was the last time the Buckeyes played in 95 degree heat with 80% humidity? Will these conditions in any way affect them in Austin in 2006? It just seems like tOSU almost never plays away games in September and when they do it's a northern team like Wazzu. I suppose the game last year against NC State might have been similar.

I remember Stanford struggling big time. But Notre Dame seemed to do just fine, although it was a little cooler if memory serves. Didn't affect UCLA at all. (damn you John Mackovick)

This is also a good time to point out that I'm glad this year's game is in September. I would not be excited about our chances if it was supposed to snow (coupled with playing a night game in the Shoe, of course).

That sounds like the weather in Ohio today. The heat won't have much affect on the Buckeyes. 90 degree weather in Ohio is normal.

EH: Just as casey and DC said above, we get some muggy scorchers "way up" in Ohio. I went though USAF basic training in San Antonio starting in mid-August, and the 90+ degree heat wasn't much different from the heat I left back in Ohio. Our team will be more than ready when they head down your way next year.

I was at that Wazzu game - and the Texas Tech game before that back in '02. Both of those games were muggy and hot as hell. That's part of the reason Wazzu got their asses handed to them in the second half - they were completely whipped by the heat, and Clarett just ran roughshod over 'em. That's one of the reasons I hate when OSU plays games at night early in the season - especially against opponents from more temperate regions (see: Washington, 2003.) Places like Seattle just don't see the kind of weather we get here, and even for some southern teams, it's something that could possibly take them by surprise if they overlook it. All things considered though, I'm glad this particular game is going to be under the lights.:)

By the way, there isn't a place in Texas (or all the nation) that is hotter than my apartment right now. Damn my landlord, and damn my shitty air conditioner!

Finally: Chili - no beans. Cincinnati-style chili is compeltely acceptable, and quite delicious.
