Scooter... Do we HAVE to have an RV to park in your lot or can we bring in cars and trucks? If we have to have RV's we will need a couple BP'ers to bring their RV's for us to party in  Where is a good place for everyone to park their cars? Fawcett center?

Nothing smaller than a minivan. It has to be a vehicle with ample cargo space to be permitted in my lot.

From what I understand, they are going to show the game inside the Schott and charge $5.00 to get in. If that's the case, I don't have a clue what theya re going to do about parking. Its going to be a clusterfuck down there.

There is a car lot just north of the RV lot on the West side of Fred Taylor. $10.00 day of game. Best place for cars.

Maybe I'll save up and rent and RV for the weekend... any idea on how much that costs? If I do that people can park at or around my place and we can all ride together. We just might have to take a little nappy nap before we head home

Edit:
Nevermind that idea... just checked a couple of places and it's gonna cost about 600.00 for a 24' class C motorhome, plus a 500.00 deposit. Unless everyone wants to pitch in together and get one it aint happenin'

Agreed I think your line's better... just like I think Richardson and Kudla will be able to perform well enough vs Young despite being unheralded.

What is the longhorn reaction to Boeckman at QB? We'll smoke him? Makes preparations more complex (have to prepare for both, therefore leaving less time for each potential QB)?

What is the longhorn reaction to Boeckman at QB?

I don't really have a reaction yet, but just for the purposes of good conversation lets say I do. I like the fact that we could be the first big game he is involved in. That could create some nerves and cause potential turnovers. I would think that we would try to disguise our defense more with him in the game. I know he has been around for a while but it still isnt a substitute for in game situations. The frustrating thing would be the mobility and accuracy. Sounds like a Jason White type player pre knee injury. These guys are hard to defend but I doubt that it will affect out preperation much. We are already preparing for a scrambler and a dropback passer. Matt Nordgren should provide us with a very good look for the combo style of QB. I know i am kinda rambling here, but I guess my reaction would be this, I don't care and I don't think that the UT players should care. We can't controll who you play, all we can do is prepare to play all of them. So, it just seems like something else to look at, but it does not add any additional anxiety or anything like that

Good response. I think the general feel is that Smith would probably be brought into the Texas game if Boeckman can't get it done. Now, again, Zwick may be our starter but the rumor is suggesting otherwise.

I would be scared if he were playing in Austin... same thing goes for Zwick (Boeckman has exhibited more confidence IMO). It is a big luxury that we get to play this year at home.

This seems to be one of those things that when I take a step back I have to ask myself, "Who do they think they are fooling" Troy is ya'lls best QB and I fully expect him to take the lions share of the snaps. UT is not southwest louisiana university school for the visually impared. This is not the type of game to be cute and make an example of your best playmaker at the qb possision. JT will have smith on the field the vast majority of the time. If he doesn't then i am of the opinion that tOSU just got away with much more than a minor infraction such as working at a football camp.

I tend to agree with you here. I can't really envision a scenerio where Smith doesn't play. I would think that Boeckman/Zwick starts the game, and then after a series or two Smith will be in. As has been stated, it isn't like Smith hasn't been practicing and attending meeting and film sessions. He will be prepared to play.

One thing I'd say tho is that Tressel is very unique in his approach to the QB position. He's going to choose the guy who will be solid and not screw up (and that includes leadership) over who will be the playmaker. In 02 & 03, McMullen was probably a more dynamic gunslinger, but Tressel stuck with Krenzel, including in 03 vs Michigan coming back from injury later in the game (had he stuck with McMullen, who had been doing better in that game than Craig, we may have won).

If Tressel is as pissed as many think, he will definitely sit Smith for at least one drive. This is hardly a major violation, but many of the small things are what gets you in bigger trouble with JT (class, tardy to practices, etc)

However, I don't think this is a major violation. It's worth proving a point to Smith, who has a similar temperment to VY it seems (in terms of wanting to make things happen and knowing he's capable of doing so many ways), and will be dying when sitting out just for one series.

But this is the kid that revolutionizes our offense. Just the fact that he can finish his 5 step drop or fire a bullet faster than any other QB is a plus, b/c our offense thrives on getting the ball to our playmakers at WR, especially when the run game will be a tough test against Texas' DL.

The team rallies around him differently. I doubt he sits on the sideline very long.

it would not suprise me at all to see Smith start the game on the sideline, but I would be shocked to see the "punishment" last much longer than that. You said it yourself, JT wants a leader and TS clearly gives your offense another gear, much the same way that VY does. In the lockerroom Zwick might be more vocal or even more respected, but the entire offense just seems more confident when smith is leading them. This is just an outsiders observation from watching parts of games throughout the year.

I was certainly not impressed with Zwick early on last year and do believe that with lack of a running attack really benefited Troy. The key will be how we run the ball against Miami of Ohio in the first game to who will get more playing time against Texas. I personally believe that Zwick will take the reins and never let them go because he did not have the benefit of passing to Ginn, Holmes, and Gonzo. Tressel finally gave up on us being able to run on a consistent basis and our line could not stop anyone from hitting a pocket passer in less than one second. Zwick has been under game fire and proved to his team he is a gamer pulled hamstring and if the o line and rb's do their job he will get the ball to the trio. We keep talking about two different teams last year and I agree but it was not just a Zwick issue. Spring game is not the best measurement for success in a real game otherwise Bam would have been a heisman candidate.
